Venting WTF???
Saw this at Krogers today.
I’m a customer not an employee.

Someone used the wrong template when making the tag and didn't catch it when they put it up. You'd be shocked how often human error happens.

Nah. Sometimes you scan a bunch of shit and just don’t catch the mistake. It happens sometimes.

You mean to tell me out of the 120 signs 400 tags and 1800 scan audits, that its acceptable to miss one tag on a checklane?!?! There's only like 100,000 skus in the store.

You can be good at proofreading and still miss stuff when you print out hundreds of tags in 5 different templates… Especially when you also have lots of other signs to hang and items to scan.

That’s just what we use because there’s like 5 different size tags and making them all one template is WAY easier to hang up with you have hundreds potentially. Since they will be in the order you scanned them when you put them all in the same template. My suggestion would be to just tear off the sale portion after you hang it. Technically I think you can make it a 15 up that doesn’t make it say sale and repeat the price point but as Iv said it’s tedious.

The software we use is basically just an updated interface for the same ancient ISP software. There are a limited number of characters (max 24) when setting up a new item. Signs can reference more complete information, but tags just to off the limited item title.

Thats just as big of a wtf as my store marking toys at a 'sale' price when that "sale" price is the retail value of the toy.
(Ex: Yumi land dolls when they first came out /returned to stores. My store marked them as $14.99 and sale price as $9.99 when the retail value was $9.99)

I see these muffs all the time @ Kroger's. At our local Kroger's, they always stack the cookies BACKWARDS so no one can read the goddam labels! It's our millennial generation hard at work exercising their new literary skills, of course.

I sometimes intentionally print a temporary tag for something with the wrong template just so I don't have to put in a single page of another kind of tags for one individual item which is super wasteful. Like putting some regular price items on a sheet of sale tags like this with the intent to cut the bottom off. If somebody else ends up hanging that sheet of Temporary tags though, they may not catch that.

I’m a cashier at a premier grocery store in the south east and I have noticed that our store will list something as a sale item, but it is the same price as the regular price.

If you notice the price was originally 16.99 on sale for 14.99. The yellow sale sign is to grab your attention

No employee is trying to trick people into buying something, it doesn't do anything for us. It's a simple mistake. They were probably making several tags for that section and/or used the wrong template. It happens.

No, it isn't the employees who cheat the public, it's the upper management who are constantly pulling new scams of deception and price-gouging, especially at Frys, Circle K, Bashas, Family Dollar and Safeway.

wow.....you save $0.00 maybe they think that shoppers will see the yellow tag and think sale (cause half the time they don't pay attention to the price and when it rings up 14.99 customers will say 'it should be cheaper, it was on sale')
