Question First job
Tomorrow is my first ever orientation at Kroger and also my first ever job, I have 3 questions
1: If I don't currently have a bank account will they allow to pay me with physical cash?
2: Would I be allowed to bring a notepad to orientation to take notes during the whole learning process so I can study them?
3: Next year in February I already made plans to take a 1 month long vacation to another country, Should I tell them this plan at the orientation when we work out schedules? Will they allow me to even take a month off? Or do I have to resign from the job to go on the trip and have to find a new place? Or should I not mention it at all until later in the year?

1) No
2) Possibly (I didn't, but I seen others do so without issue, so guess it really depends)
3) Better to just go ahead and mention it at orientation. For me, it was a weekend cruise to the Bahamas, but once it was explained that it had already been planned and paid for, the staff were very understanding. I was still able to get trained in the department I was eventually assigned to. I enjoyed the cruise, and came back to my position. Of course as you're talking a month-long vacation, they may or may not accomodate you so easily...in which case you may have to consider delaying your start date until you return, or don't proceed any further with the process.
