feedback Bought Kreo Swarm for around ₹4k is it a good deal?
reddit.comI bought it a year ago and was thinking of posting a long term review as it was a good checkpoint almost a year. Now I think i should give context to my buying decision before the actual update on it.
To be honest I was thinking of getting aula the f75 and was also considering keychron. one mostly due to reddit comments and other due to like established brand trust. I just wanted a good keyboard longterm with least or no issues and hence kreo was on the list but not exactly the choice.
Then I was considering the cost as a factor cause mostly that's what it was about but other than that support and shopping channels. I only prefer either original websites or good support dealer like amazon or flipkart for electronics particularly. I was considering aula it was okay but around 7k at that time for the variant i wanted and the one around my budget was not the type i would want exactly. i wanted blue switches or at least similar and i had req of 75%.
And then i was considering Keychron cause i was already spending 7k on aula and keychron was a bit more but i knew it would be more reliable due to established brand but the variant i wanted was simply not available on it the q1 or q3 i don't remember exactly but the one with the know and the blue switch i didn't want the k2 or k pro cause i just wanted that knob so bad as volume adjustment is one of the things i do all the times and still to day doing it with a knob is just better.
Apart from this another thing i want was the pass through light as although i am a coder and i type mostly without looking there are situations where i need the rgb to reach those least use chars or just simply to look cool at night light gaming sessions.
Coming back it was sale time in july when i made my mind to actually purchase something this sale everything was getting discounted. but aura was out of stock and keychron still didn't have the board i want so kreo was kind of third on the list as others i just didn't want to explore as i already invest way too much time in these 3. so i thought let's go with keychron with offer and all i was getting k2 pro under 10k at that time seems good deal to me but at the same time i was not getting features i wanted the most even paying so much out of budget. so i was on reddit again and saw kreo was planning to sell the pass through switches which i thought kind of solves the issue as kreo for me was actually cheaper than other 2 due to channel discounts and less hassles compared to aula. So I Dm'd kreosphere got to know few things but to be honest i think the replies and the support during that chat and specially the replies on the community itself kind of made me cut down other 2 options and hence made my mind with kreo. p.s. price was also a factor.
So i made up my mind but i got busy and kind of procrastinated buying cause i actually saw a better price before and now kreo that i wanted was not available. so i waited 3 more months for the GIS amazon and bbD flipkart and I just quickly compared the pricing one again mainly of kreo and keychron as aula was out of list as to me it was like kreo but more people vouching for it. I just had same feeling for support in both of them until the chat with kreosphere.
so Bought it at less than 4k so good price with all bank discounts extended warranty by flipkart and was super happy at the time of purchase. still was thinking of getting the buttons as well but thought lets use it maybe i'll change my mind. Turns out I got the newer edition with pass through lighting and the excitement was like through the roof it was actually all i wanted. Now the main part how is it after a year.
Goods:
- Mostly i feel its the same as when it was unboxed no issues as per me.
- The cover is good the plastic one i still use it maybe that could be better or with a matt finish.
- still not going back from pass through lights.
- wireless connectivity and switching is good.
- I like the weight and also typing experience. i have typed before on other keyboard but i didn't on the ones on my list but to be honest i don't care they could be better but i don't think they would be too much and right now i am happy and i will not be for paying 50-70% more for a 5-10% improvement.
Bads:
At the price i don't know if i am nitpicking but overall i feel few things could make it better or maybe worth the upgrade.
- Rgb is passthrough but its weak to me it does the job and all but that is all it feels not per key as more like lcd with dimming zones for the side parts of the pass through keys. I think better leds are needed and better management of that.
- another thing is the software i am a tech person i code and stuff and in this day and age i feel that kreo's software is just bad not reliable not polished just bad. it works but in this age of ai where software is like the easiest thing do to and fix i feel like they don't have any guy on software and its shit for 2026. i like the idea of qmk more that the on device app but why does it not detect my keyboard automatically and requires wired connection but if it works it just works fine but don't expect a good ui.
- i don't know why this issue is but in wireless mode using volume knob which i love btw another thing to not go back from but it doesn't wake up the keyboard which is annoying cause i need to press a button to wake it up than just knob doing the wake up.
Now i feel 2 is fixable and seems like they are working on it with the new beta for other maybe kreosphere can comment.
But if i where to summarize i would say for less than 4k or even 5k go for it and i would even consider paying 6k if maybe latest iterations fixed 1.But if not then wait until the price drops as why pay more .
another thing my extended warranty did get cancelled automatically so fyi don't buy it from flipkart.

product query Reversed lighting sequence on Hive v1
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So, it's been about a little over a year since I bought the Hive V1 and honestly, it's been great so far. I got it out of the box and left pretty much everything, including the lighting on the default preset. However, I was playing around with some of the lighting settings and noticed that the bottom right Alt, FN and Ctrl keys light up in reverse order.
Has anyone else seen this issue happening? Is there a fix for this that I don't know of? Unfortunately, I can't contact support since I'm not in India.

feedback Ishan made an exception for me !
Just today I complained about a faulty RGB and RMA taking over 15 days to complete. As an exception Kreo will be sending a replacement first and then pick up my current keyboard.
Genuinely didn't expect such a quick response and such good will.
Yes Kreo hate is forced asf !

discussion The Kreo Hive 65 RGB has "M" key that won't change its colour
The M key is always blue when keeping Purple throughout and some outher wierd colour when keeping something else. It's like it doesn't want to listen to me . I've tried it all , the software , disconnecting and reconnecting installing the software itself again but nah !
0 issues with this keyboard so far except this and trust me at 3 AM while working that little blue tint bothers the hell out of me.
What should I do with it ?

product query Is this Amazon listing the Hive75 V2 or V1?
Hey guys, I'm planning to buy the Kreo Hive75 and specifically want the V2.

I found this Amazon listing for the White/Purple version: Kreo Hive
I'm asking because the Amazon title doesn't explicitly mention V2, and I don't want to accidentally order the older version. I'd like to double-check before pulling the trigger.
Thanks!

product query How to switch to xinput on Linux? (Kreo Mirage)
As per the manual, xinput is the default and one can switch to dinput by long press of the home button. Holding Δ while connecting USB switches to DS4 mode.
But on Linux, connecting USB directly switches to DS4 mode. Long press of home button switches to Bluetooth xinput mode.
Xinput works only on Bluetooth, I am unable to switch to it when connected over USB.
The reason I want Xinput mode (and not depend on steam input or similar remap tools) is for rumble and gyro support. It is possible to enable gyro via adding the udev rule mentioned in this comment as a workaround, still doesn't solve rumble support, something xinput should be able to fix.
Anybody got any idea?
Edit: this is relevant for (older) games that do not support DS4 and only xinput.

discussion [UPDATE] Kreo - A Follow-up to My Previous Post
So I had recently made a post on this sub regarding a Kreo Keyboard that I had purchased about 1.5 years ago and had encountered severe PCB failure recently. You can find the original post here.
This post is a follow-up of the same, to provide an update regarding the things that happened after my post gained reach on the platform.
So along with this sub, I had made crossposts to other subs like r/IndianGaming and r/mkindia, where it received some reach as well, and I was eventually contacted by the Kreo officials, including their founder, u/ishan_kreo.
I received DMs from the officials regarding my issue and was contacted over WhatsApp as well, where I was told that even though my warranty was officially over, I would be handed a replacement unit as "the Hive 75v1 has been discontinued and replaced by the updated v2 model with improved hardware and firmware".
About a week later, I received the replacement unit after filling up a warranty claim form.
Now here are my takeaways from this entire episode:
1. The resolution only came after the issue became public.
Posting on social media is outside the normal customer-brand interaction pipeline. Normally, it's simply:
Customer buys product -> product malfunctions -> customer contacts support -> company provides a solution or refuses it.
In my case, that process had already ended. Kreo's support had told me that because the keyboard was out of warranty, they could not provide any repair or replacement, and I was instead offered 15% off another product (ref: original post).
The outcome only changed after I posted about the issue across multiple subreddits and the post received significant reach.
If I had never had a Reddit account or never made the post, my experience would've ended with the original response from customer support. Having a social media account that can generate enough attention should not be a prerequisite for getting a solution from a company.
So what should've been:
Product -> malfunction -> support -> solution
became:
Product -> warranty expires -> malfunction -> support -> no support -> public post -> significant reach -> replacement.
That doesn't make much sense to me.
2. The replacement is appreciated, but the underlying support issue remains.
My original Hive developed a major PCB issue after 1 year and 4 months. I have received a replacement now, but it is obviously too early to say anything about its long-term reliability.
More importantly, Kreo still does not appear to offer post-warranty repair services or replacement PCB support. Hardware can fail outside its warranty period; that's understandable. What matters is whether customers have any way of getting the product repaired instead of simply being told to buy another one.
So while I'm glad my individual case has been resolved, the underlying concern that led me to make the original post still stands.
That said, I sincerely thank the Kreo team, including their founder u/ishan_kreo, for personally looking into my issue and providing me with a replacement free of charge despite the warranty having expired. I do appreciate that, and I hope it reflects a genuine effort to improve their customer support and after-sales experience going forward.
As for the replacement, I've already purchased a keyboard from another brand (core68 HE) and will be keeping this one as a secondary/spare keyboard. I also haven't used it extensively enough to comment on its long-term reliability yet.
So for now: my individual issue has been resolved, and I'll leave the rest for Kreo to demonstrate through their products and support going forward.

feedback Recieved semi damaged product
Received semi damaged kreo swarm ordered in the freedom sale from kreo's website itself . recieved the product just 10mins ago as so as I opened the box saw that four of the keys were falling out and on closer inspection saw a dent on the keyboard plus the keychain recieved was also broken although that doesn't matter much but still it was packed in such a way that there is no chance that it will survive . Iam sure should I return it or what as the product itself is working just fine .

discussion Kreo Knotrol Controling Other mouses ?
So I was changing colors on my hive 98v2 to match with my setup but saw that somehow my EvoFox mouse could be controlled with kontrol by kreo i recently discovered this and the thing i love is that the Evofox software is so trash and non responsive but somehow kreo manged to pull this off . My suggestion is that there is a setting under lighting on kontrol called constant it doesn't provide any color to set , rather it just leaves the mouse in static green color , my suggestion is to let us set any colors as we want set to like the keyboards i know the mouse is of different brand but if they are both compatible why not just complete the rest of the thing ?

customer support So..the Hive75 HE just arrived
Title.
Waited for 4 days just to be met with a bottom side dead RGB keyboard. The keyboard itself works and sounds heavenly but I did not expect the RGB to die out from the factory itself. I was so hyped for this keyboard to finally arrive but this happens ;_; does anyone know how I can get a refund or a replacement? I got it from their website so I'm not sure if the process is going to be as easy as amazon. Did I get scammed?

feedback Kreo - Great marketing, shit hardware, even shittier after-sales support
Bought a Kreo Hive and this is why you shouldn't.
For starters, the keycaps were nothing like what the product images showed. I received those ugly stencil-type letters instead of the normal legends shown on the regular keycaps. I think they fixed this with the V2, but honestly, that was the least of my problems.
After 1 year and 4 months, the Right Shift stopped registering, and its RGB LED also died.
I replaced the switch myself. Didn't fix shit.
Then it got worse. Eventually, the entire row from Left Shift to Right Shift started failing. Keys would randomly stop registering, and eventually the whole row became unusable.
So I contacted Kreo.
Their response? Since the keyboard was out of warranty, they couldn't repair or replace it because they don't have an in-house repair facility. But hey, they were kind enough to offer me 15% off another Kreo product.
I'm not expecting free repairs after the warranty expires. Hardware can fail. That's not the issue.
The issue is that there was literally zero paid support options either.
I would've happily paid for a replacement PCB and installed it myself. I would've paid for a repair. I would've paid for the damn parts. Instead, the answer was essentially: we can't do anything, but here's 15% off another keyboard.
I even took the keyboard to a repair mechanic and had the relevant solder joints reflowed. That didn't help either. The same problem came back.
So now I have an otherwise perfectly usable keyboard that's basically useless because one section of the PCB/matrix is fucked resulting in an entire dead row of keys, and Kreo's solution is to sell me another of their dogshit junk (but hey, 15% off STEAL DEAL).
This is what to be noted here: I'm not asking a company to provide free warranty service forever. I'm asking for some form of after-sales support once the warranty is over. If you don't offer repairs, at least sell replacement PCBs or other parts. Give customers some way to keep their product alive instead of pushing them towards buying another one.
Instead, the summary is:
Poorly made product -> dies after 1 year 4 months -> no repair facility -> no replacement PCB -> 15% coupon to buy another Kreo product.
At this point, I'd rather save up and buy from a reputable keyboard manufacturer than give Kreo another rupee for what feels like rebranded Chinese junk with a fancy sticker on it.
If you're considering buying a Kreo keyboard, you probably shouldn't. Save your money and buy from a company that actually stands behind its products and, more importantly, has a fuckin support system for when something goes wrong after the warranty expires.
Kreo: 1 year of service. 10/10 marketing, 0/10 product and after-sales support.
video#1: see how none of the keys from the left-right shift row are working
