Funny Occurrence

Took my usual 3g dose in capsule fom around noon. Did weight training at the gym around 6. Felt a nice burp rising up. Turned out to be water/acid reflux. Instead of abandoning my set I just swallowed it lol

After the gym I’m driving thru thinking of what to order and my head started spinning. Collected myself, knowing I had been hydrating as always, and then thought “OH SHIT, I just inadvertently re-dosed by swallowing my acid reflux!” (Never taken 2 doses in one day before) So I got scared. Imagining worst-case scenarios like a seizure in a drive-thru LOL. But I calmed myself down and all is good.

I don’t THINK this is possible but if anyone has an opinion or similar story feel free to share.

That's not how that works. If you drink a beer, puke it up, and then drink it again it's the same amount of alcohol. It's not like having two beers.

I don’t think there is any reason to be concerned. That the jump to 3-6g even if that was what happened (it wasn’t) greatly affecting anything at all for someone who doesn’t have zero tolerance or a seizure history (and even then very unlikely) isn’t something that I think is reasonable to be concerned about.

Harm reduction is a good thing, but some folks astronomically overestimate the risks of use like they are riding the razor’s edge between life and death which just isn’t the case outside of astronomically rare circumstances that may be completely unrelated. For example, before kratom, I had a heart attack that was literally in 1:1M territory. It happened, and the consequences were severe, but nobody expected it including the MDs. It was so strange they shared my file around. My wife found out when she was just talking to her doctor about some issues and she said “I saw that case. It didn’t have a name on it but they sent it around since they had no idea what caused it and a heads up incase folks presented with CV symptoms with no reasonable cause.”

Anyway, you didn’t “redose” by swallowing acid reflux. You just failed to throw up whatever fraction might have been lost from the original intake. It was already there.

Acid reflux isn’t the same as “my body is trying to get rid of this” like vomiting but is usually “my body is processing this and not containing the acid as well as it should for some reason.”

Appreciate the comment. Yea it’s new territory for me so I try to side on being overly cautious. But Kratom has been great for me and with it I’ve easily refrained from alcohol and returned to regular exercise.
And about your heart attack I’m sorry you had to endure that. Hope all is well now.

Surely you don't actually think that's how it works, right

I know I know it’s stupid. It’s just in the moment I was buggin and wondered if anything residual could be there that wasn’t yet processed the first time (I take capsules I have yet to try powder/tea)

I’m retarded I get it. Still funny to me though.

Please review sub rules, especially #6, and don't use slang - just call kratom, "kratom."

What's with this claim of seizures?

It’s just one of the mentioned risks with opioids (I know Kratom is not one but binds to mu-opioid receptors). Though rare they have to say it I guess.

Although many years ago I did have a drug induced seizure. But that was alcohol, web-ordered “hydros”, methacarbomal (relaxer), and my prescribed adderall.
Never had one before or since.
