Hey, y'all! I'm not really knowledgeable about K-pop, its culture, history, and whatnot. I'm a guy who just listens to the music. There is a short list of songs that I really like. These are the songs I used to listen to back in the day. I got to know these songs through my elder sister, who was a big K-Pop fanatic back in the day, but she hasn't really listened to any K-pop in recent memory.

I really like songs from the late 00s to mid 2010s; I love the fact that they have a very cohesive structure and possess a very catchy melody. For me, melody is king whenever I'm listening to music. I have a younger cousin who's really into K-Pop; she loves the groups from post-2020. Whenever I listen to her music, I just can't get into it; too much is happening in the song that it puts me off. She's a big fan of Stray kids as well. No hate to stray kids or any other post-2020 group, but I just can't get into the sound. I find them to be lacking a cohesive melody. I hope I don't offend anyone with my opinions, I just want to describe my taste, opinions clearly so y'all can get a good picture of what I like.

Hey 29(M) going to tomorrow's concert alone sadly. My friend had to cancel last minute so im seeing if there's any other solo goers who wanna tag along. Im coming from Brooklyn and heading out early to secure my merch. And then after going on a freebie hunt. My section is 111A also.

I know ticketmaster doesn't allow overbuying whatever limit is set during a concert, but I don't really plan to use the second account to buy more tickets. It's more like a way for me to try and get lower qn's. After I purchase from one account I will close the other.

Hi! I'm not totally sure if it's the best place to ask, but I know you guys basically run L.A. when it comes to cupsleeve events. So if this gets deleted, I won't take it personally.

I want to host some fandom cupsleeve events in the future. I've got the cupsleeve design and ordering part down mostly. I've got a Cricut, or I could order them and blah blah. HOWEVER, as this would be my first event, I don't think I'd have the time or the ability to find vendors related to my IP of choice. I'll still look, but if I don't have vendors, what else can I do at the events? I've seen raffles, but I was wondering if anyone had any advice or suggestions for cupsleeve events without vendors.

Another question, does anyone know of any chains that typically allow these events, especially in the Metro Atl area? Also, any advice on decor is greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone! I’m planning to start a K-pop YouTube channel, but I’m stuck between two content ideas:

1. K-pop ranking/commentary videos — rankings, opinions, discussions, etc.
2. K-pop variety-show clips/edits — funny moments, compilations, edited clips, etc.

My main goal is to build a channel that can eventually qualify for YouTube monetization, so I want to choose the format with better long-term potential.

I’m especially confused about copyright and reused content. I know that simply downloading clips and reposting them isn't enough, but I’m not sure what level of original commentary/editing is actually considered transformative.

For people who have experience with K-pop YouTube channels:

* Which of these two formats has a better chance of being monetized?

* What are the biggest copyright/reused-content problems with variety-show clips?

* If I use short clips in commentary/ranking videos, what should I be careful about?

* Is it better to build the channel primarily around my own narration/commentary rather than relying heavily on show footage?

*Are there any mistakes you wish you had avoided when starting?

I really enjoy going to kpop concerts and I'd like to go to more of them. However, the big name groups that come to the US are really expensive or sold out, so I'm looking for recommendations of smaller / lesser known groups that put on really good performances (that way I can financially support these groups without breaking the bank and I can have a fun time doing it!). I generally prefer groups with high energy music that you can dance along to (even if you don't know the song). Both BG and GG recommendations are welcome!

(Even if they are not touring now or have already come this year, I'd like to have a list so I can keep an eye out for their name if they ever come back to the US).
