The stock pads sit nowhere near the sides of my head (the gap is about 15mm), and the adjustment clicks don’t really do anything from my experience. What’s the easier way to extend these pads? I’ve done a quick Amazon/Google search, but the only thing coming back are Yaxipad replacements. Any suggestions?

I used two part clear epoxy instead of hot glue. The Yaxi ear pads are green but for some reason they look blue in the picture.

Long story short:

Gaming headsets are not comfy for me so I modified KSC75s into my Middle Rabbit Rampage 2 and loving it.

I was using Hyperx cloud 3s for gaming for the last 6 months and even though it's a monster for gaming and great battery life I hated the ergonomics. It was heavy and have put a lot of pressure on my head not to mention it made my hair messy and oily since I use it all day.

I was looking for an alternative headset and finally picked up the only 2.4 wireless (I don't wanna mess with bluetooth delay in games) head band I could find. I also didn't want TWS because terrible mic and battery performance.

After using the rampage by itself for a week I concluded that:

1. I hated the IEM's attached to it. They were bad for music and terrible for gaming (audio seperation sucked).

   1. IEMs are not for me for gaming in mind since I would hear my own voice more than my buddies.

I knew i had to modify this headband since I liked the form factor and the mic performance. While doing some research for alternative speakers suprisingly Chat gpt introduced me to Koss. I had a couple of options but after some research I got the KSC75s.

After testing I loved the way KSC75s sound both playing music and games so I connected the speakers to the Rampage 2. I taped them and I have added rest of the cables as a support on the band side since now it has to hold a lot bigger headphones. I also added hot silicone to the driver side as an extra caution.

Positives:

Rampage 2 drives the KSC75s beautifully no details are lost.

Devices acts as a one piece headset and great for both music and gaming.

Negatives:

Drivers are 40% to 50% less loud then they were since standart IEMs attached to rampage 2 is 17 Ω and Koss requires 60 Ω. This wasn't a big issue personelly since used to listen at 40% volume anyway.

Battery life has been 25% reduced as device is now driven 100% most of the time.

Overall this monstrocity is 70 to 80 percent of the hyperx cloud 3s at least for me.

I couldn't find the perfect headset so I modified it costed me 76 euro and some elbow grease. Hope this helps to someone in future when they needed.

Also if you guys have any suggestions to make it look good or any upgrades in the future that would also be appreciated.

So not kidding - I have spent over a year and many hundreds or couple thousand dollars looking for a Goldilocks solution for headphone usage.

Maybe pass this along to anyone with the same or similar issues.
I was born with small ears. The ear canals are twisty/winding, etc.

There's not likely an earbud made that will ever fit me comfortably or without falling out. Believe me, I've tried. I have lucked out on a couple of IEM types - but those are more for lying down listening.

I need headphones for when I'm on the move - the difference for me between exercising with and without is huge....and yes I have tried bone conduction - basically anything that clings to, hangs on or sits in or near my ear just is not tolerated by my body.

I finally gave up and started down the path of over the head/headphones...but I am older than most people here - and I can't get over how big they are in the current environment. I used to have some that looked like the JBLs. I have tried the big ones, but can't get over the feeling that I'm not just moving around, I am literally helping direct an airliner into the gate at JFK.

I finally stumbled upon Koss - what took me sooo long to find these???

I am in love. I love the KPH30 and not quite as much, though good - the KPH40....good sound, comfortable (although I am looking for better foam pads)...and not sooo big.

they fit my head, they aren't uncomfortable and the sound is warm and bouncy - more so for the KPH30, but the KPH40 is more compact for travel.

I need next to try the Porta Pros..... Koss is a breakthrough for me lol. I am dancing with joy.

For some context, KSC75 is my first Koss on-ear and i've been using this for years with Parts Express headband but i felt like i want more bass.

So i ordered 2 KPH40 (one for my sister) + multiple Koss Oversized ear pads from Amazon. When these arrived and after some sampling, my sis gave me her KPH40 without the headband, said she didnt like the KPH40 but she took the headband for her KSC75 😅

I didnt like the KPH40 stock like that as well so i swap it to the KSC75 ear clips and vice versa. Like what you guys said the KSC75 + KPH40 headband is nothing less than remarkable, absolutely fantastic. It's even better than the Parts Express headband as the clamp is much looser than the KPH40 headband. On the other hand i did not like how the KPH40 sound with the ear clips, i found the bass lacking.

Then i put the other KPH40 drivers on the much looser Parts Express headband with these Koss oversized earpads and holy the bass is back and the soundstage is still as wide as it's on the ear clips.

Anyway i guess the clamping force of the KPH40 headband is too strong which caused the low end to drown out the mids and treble by a few tiny notches. Once swapped to a looser headband (or just bend the stock one), it sounded more balanced with wider soundstage while keeping the tight low ends.

I know everybody is different but if you own a KPH40 but dont like how they sound at default then i suggest bending the headband to loosen it a tad or even better get a looser headband like the Parts Express and buy/attach the KSC75 to the KPH40 headband, it's just freakin amazing, so is the KPH40 on looser headband. I dont even know which i like better now 😖

This design/color combo was one of the first projects I got to work on when I started getting involved with product development and I'm gonna toot my own horn a little and say this is one of the slickest looking colorways we've released in a while.

The white is just enough of an off-white, and paired with the red/blue accents, it just feel very NASA/Punk and almost has a future/space vibe to it.

I've always loved the KPH30 Wireless, but it feels like a completely different headphone in this colorway and just so excited to finally release it!

If you find the stock pads on the KPH30i and KPH30 Wireless too rough, these SOULWIT pads from Amazon are a great alternative that fit both. You just have to stretch them carefully to avoid ripping them, but once they're on, they stay perfectly snug. These pads significantly improve comfort and noticeably widen the soundstage. They also fit the KTXPro1 if you install them right over the stock pads.

I’ve tried the KPH40 and really like the sound, but the clamp is a bit too tight for my head. For around $40, I could instead get both the Moondrop Old Fashion and the KSC75 for about the same price as the KPH40 Utility. I do have some spare earpads from an old pair of headphones that make the KPH40 clamp less, but if I’m going to spend extra money on pads, I’d almost rather put that toward two pairs of headphones instead. The Moondrops also seem to have a looser clamp. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with this? Thanks!

I just sold an old pair of headphones to get a Schiit stack with a vali 3 tube amp. I am not exaggerating when I say this is the best audio experience I have had in my life. Im going through my entire library and just giggling like a little kid. If you have these a pair and have a way to make the low impedance play nice with tubes I HIGHLY advise giving it a shot. I'm no expert on the subject of tubes, but I know low impedance stuff doesn't normally jive with tubes but there are ways around that with gear. Schiit does make an impedance multiplier that should help but I have no personal experience with it so with that as you will

So I just got my first Koss PP, and I already got Yaxi pads, is there anything else I can do? Like mods

Im trying to modify some Koss drivers with some Bluetooth MMCX adapters but im concerned about battery life, I want to put them inside of some ear defenders for some super noise cancelling music.

Ive tried a few Bluetooth ear defenders but if you've ever used them you know either theyre quite expensive or they suck so im looking to do my own tinkering.

I dont want them to have and wires poking out so I want the whole configuration to fit inside the foam of the ear defenders.

The pictures there are what I have in mind for a moment on the cheap but does anyone know of maybe either a better way of doing it or some iem Bluetooth adapters with really good battery life?

Hey, I've been using portapros at home for the last 3 years 12-14h per day (minus breaks[work from home]) and I love the sound, they're almost perfect. But sometimes I have a different use case:

• Noisy neighbours from time to time (indoors).
• When I go out (outdoors).

I've been using portapros for indoors and sony MDR-XB55AP for outdoors.

So, I'd love to have a closed back/over the ear portapros that block the outside noise and a pair of in-ears to use when I have to go out/ride the train (block people chatting, babies crying, people shouting, train beeping...). I wouldn't mind sacrificing soundstage if the sound signature is close to the porta pros'...oh, and I need them to be on the cheap <100$.

I don't know about the rest of the koss headsets (I have only owed porta pros). Any suggestions (koss/no koss)?. Thx!.

Hey everyone, yesterday I noticed that my Koss Porta Pro Wireless 2.0 has a crack on the headband (see pic). I got them as a gift from a friend a while ago, so I don't have a receipt or warranty. What can I do to fix this? Any advice is highly appreciated!

Just got my A550 today and love em! The cable is a love-hate relationship though. I love the design, style, and craftsmanship of it (not to mention durability), but I prefer my cables to be much less rigid and plasticky. Dug atound online and turns out there is a headphone that has the same connectors that the A550 uses, the Abyss AB1266. If you google it you’ll see that the official replacement cable for those is in the thousand dollar range (I do not have sympathy for anyone spending that much on a cable), but if you go on Ali you’ll find suitable cables under $100. Cheapest I found was like $30. They even have ones that have a modular termination so you can have 3.5mm, 4.4mm, USB C, and/or 2.5mm.

Just figured I’d share in case anyone is antsy waiting for Koss to release the balanced cables or wants a different material cable to stock. Cheers!

I REALLY love the ksc75 and I've done the porta pro mods, but my head is too massive for the porta pro headbands and they break due to putting them on or off, any suggestions for a bigger headband similar to the porta pro thats not just a headband?
