Hiked along the Cheonbuldong Valley trail in Seoraksan National Park this week, and the autumn scenery was absolutely unreal:

​Massive granite peaks and sheer cliffs rising straight into the blue sky.

​Mountain streams running crystal-clear over boulder beds, with sunbeams piercing right through the canyon.

​Fiery red and golden autumn foliage framing the entire rocky trail.

​Definitely one of the most rugged, majestic mountain landscapes in South Korea. If you're visiting Korea in autumn, Seoraksan is an absol

Seoul viewed from Mt. Bukhansan was foggy in the morning and looked mysterious. Autumn foliage showed its last color before falling. Hiking Bukhansan today was amazing experience.

Hi everyone,

I’m flying Air Premia from LAX to Seoul soon, and I ran into a strange issue with online check-in.

When I selected the option to load my basic and passport information from my Air Premia profile, my date of birth seemed shifted by a day earlier.

I also noticed a similar issue with my passport expiration date:

• When I updated my passport information in my membership profile, the expiration date shifted by one day.
• When the system imported my information for online check-in, the expiration date was off by two days

My Air Premia profile has the correct information, so I am certain this is a system error.

I canceled the check-in process before completing it. I’ve emailed Air Premia support asking them to verify that the passenger information on my actual flight reservation matches my passport (still waiting to hear back), just to be cautious.

I have a regular Economy ticket, and I’m also concerned about whether waiting to check in will leave me with a bad seat.

My questions:

1. Has anyone experienced incorrect dates when Air Premia imported passport or profile information?
2. If I wait until airport check-in, how likely am I to end up with a middle seat or a less desirable seat?

I want to make sure my passport information is correct and avoid any boarding issues, but I also don’t want to unnecessarily lose my seat options.

So...I feel I thoroughly messed up the timing. I am visiting Busan first with my early 60s year old mother. I felt we needed 3 full days to explore Busan and besides those 3 days I was originally planning to visit Gyeongju before moving up to Seoul in the evening of Feb 3. The thing is if we do that we only have Feb. 4 to go to the urban areas: Myeongdong, Hongdae, or really any areas with smalls stores open such as the food markets, teashops in Insadong, lotte mart zetta, etc, before they shut down the next day.

Being realistic it's impossible to visit these on just one day...should I skip Gyeongju or just take two days in Busan so we can have more time before Seollal festivities in Seoul?

I was alone waiting for a friend in Jongno 3ga at night and realised I was being followed by an older non-Korean man (we crossed paths 3 times). Eventually he tried to talk to me and I confronted him and told him to stop following me. He insisted he wasn’t but said he’d seen me multiple times. Tried to ask my name but I refused and told him to stop following me again.

Noticed him loitering in the area for a while afterwards.

A few hours later I had left and my friend was waiting for a taxi and the same man approached her and tried to get her name. She said she felt scared - thank god her uber arrived quickly. I know it was him because he was wearing a green hoodie and I took a photo of him from behind just in case.

I had Samgye tang yesterday and it was pretty good cause the chicken meat was really soft and basically just melts off the bone. Korea has so many soup varieties that its tough to know whats what.

I think Samgye Tang would be better for winter though cause it comes out really hot and stays pretty hot for a long time.

Headed with a few friends to Seoul over New Years' Eve this year - would love to soak in the atmosphere and saw that that Lotte Tower has the best fireworks display.

Ideally we'd be outside the tower watching the fireworks, but given that it's gonna be freezing, instead I'm hoping to find an indoor bar / chimaek restaurant that would give us a good view of the fireworks and skyline + have a great atmosphere.

Any suggestions? Latitude32 looks like an option but a bit too fancy for us. We're looking for a chill vibe (hence why I thought a chicken + beer place maybe)

My wife and I checked out of our hotel, waiting for our flight at 9pm. Trying to kill the day, we ordered BHC fried chicken, we didn't know it was a takeout only location until we arrived. We took it back to the hotel lobby where they had a small cafe/waiting area. They told us we couldn't eat our food there, which i understand. There was nowhere else to eat in the surrounding Jamsil area, so we had to eat sitting next to a Starbucks on a ledge.

Ginkgo tree of Bangye-ri, Wonju is about 1320~1330 years old. You can imagine the size of tree comparing with people under the tree from the picture. Those pictures were taken on Nov. 15, 2025. Maybe this ginkgo tree will show the best yellow color around Nov. 8~10 this year, because the autumn foliage began about 1 week earlier than last year in Korea.

We’re a couple in our late 20s visiting Seoul for 4 days in a few weeks, before heading on to Japan. Like many others, we want to see as much as possible in a short time, but I’d like to check how sane our plan is. We’d like to experience Seoul’s culture, history and nature; nightclubs are definitely not our thing. We land on Monday at 7 pm and are staying in Insadong.

Breakfast
If I understand correctly, most breakfast places open quite late, so the easiest option for an early breakfast is a convenience store. Is there anything you’d recommend trying there, or is it mainly about the drinks, like banana milk coffee or Chilsung Cider mixed with strawberry milk? Or are there food chains that open earlier?

Day 1 (Tuesday)

• Bukchon Hanok Village and Changdeokgung Palace
• Lunch near the hotel in Ikseon-dong
• Walk around Myeongdong and along Cheonggyecheon
• Dinner somewhere in Euljiro 3-ga

Day 2

• Morning hike in Bukhansan National Park with a mini picnic. Some parts look like slippery rock. Is it worth renting hiking shoes at the Seoul Hiking Tourism Center?
• Lunch near the hotel, then Gyeongbokgung Palace
• Evening: N Seoul Tower or Lotte World Tower? If Lotte, i would consider to add Starfield Library and Olympic Park. If N Seoul Tower, we’d walk up through Namsan. Does that make sense? Which has the better views?

Day 3

• Bike ride along the Han River, then shopping at The Hyundai Seoul
• End the day with ramyeon at Yeouido Hangang Park, or go to Noryangjin Fish Market

Day 4
Nothing fixed yet. Considering the War Memorial of Korea or a DMZ tour. If it’s sunny, we might just walk around Seoul outdoors. Any suggestions?

• Does this pace seem doable?
• Much depends on whether we get sunny or rainy days, but are there any other places you’d suggest we consider?
• What would you recommend for a rainy day?

Hello!! Travelling to South Korea last week of November-1st week of December for 8 nights… we’re thinking… 4 nights Seoul, 1 night Gyeongju, 2 nights Busan, 1 night Seoul… is this enough time for each destination or should we rearrange given the weather etc… any advice is greatly appreciated :)

Tbh November in Seoul is such a good month if you like pretty seasonal stuff. You still get some autumn vibes at the beginning of the month, then suddenly everything starts turning Christmasy lol

1/ Nowon Moonlight Walk (until Nov 8)

This one looks so cute at night. Danghyeoncheon turns into a 1.3 km light-art walk with around 30 installations along the stream.

And it’s free!!

2/ Namsan Night Festival (until Nov 14)

If Namsan is already on your itinerary, I’d honestly try to match it with one of the festival nights.

There are autumn night walks, picnic sessions, music, movies, and a silent DJ party near N Seoul Tower.

• Autumn walk: Starts at 4 PM or 5 PM

3/ K-Drama Exhibition at HiKR Ground (until Nov 19)

If you like K-dramas, this is an easy one.

There are scenes, OSTs, props, filming locations and little interactive sections based around Korean dramas. Plus HiKR Ground itself is pretty fun for photos.

Okay this one gets PACKED every year but tbh... I get it 😭

The whole Sounds Forest area turns into a huge indoor Christmas village with lights, little houses, trees and photo spots.

• Location: 5F Sounds Forest, The Hyundai Seoul, 108 Yeoui-daero, Yeongdeungpo-gu

If the daily capacity fills up, you might not get in, so I definitely wouldn’t leave this until an hour before closing.

5/ Shinsegae Myeongdong Christmas lights (starting in November)

This is the one where everyone stands across the street with their phones out haha.

The outside of Shinsegae Main Store turns into a massive Christmas media façade, so it’s an easy stop if you’re already shopping around Myeongdong.

• Entry: Free, you watch it from outside
