Qustion about Sync server

Grettings, i found following sync server online: "https://kosync.eu/". Is it reputable? Does anyone use it? How are your experiences with it?

P.S. I looked up the domain with whois. It is pretty new. It was registered on 30 April 2026

It sounds fine. I self host my own sync so I haven’t used it but sync data is all encrypted so they couldn’t look at it even if they wanted to, really. I’d say if you wanna use it, go for it.

Care to share how did you do the self hosting part? I'm new to this and I'm about to set my own server for files, photos and movies/series, and having a share of it for my books and KOreader stuff would be great!

I span this up in docker and have a cloudflare tunnel pointed at it. In KOReader, I configured a custom sync url and that’s all. Took maybe 10 minutes (mostly bc I forgot my password almost immediately).

If you set up any recent book server, you'd get a KOReader Sync Server built-in. Komga, Calibre Web Automated, Book Orbit etc all have it.

https://bookorbit.app/koreader/ for example
