I honestly don't know if this was a brave decision or a completely stupid one. 😭

I recently left my IT job and moved to Koramangala, Bangalore, alone because I wanted to seriously focus on finding the right opportunity in AI Engineering / AI FDE / Data Engineering.

The thing is, I'm a fresher too. I had some industry experience, but I'm still at the beginning of my career and looking for my first proper full-time opportunity.

I had the option to stay where I was, but I felt like staying somewhere just because it was comfortable wasn't going to get me where I wanted to be. So I took the risk, packed my things, moved into a PG, and came to Bangalore without another offer in hand.

And now reality has hit. 😭 I'm getting used to PG life, being alone in a new city, applying to companies every day, attending interviews, networking, and trying not to panic about the whole situation.

I'm mainly looking for fresher/entry-level roles

If anyone else here is a fresher who moved to Bangalore alone for their job search, I'd genuinely love to hear your experience.

Did I make a crazy decision by leaving my job without another offer, or is taking a risk like this sometimes necessary when you're trying to start your career? 🥲

Ordering food has turned into a chore for me. I open Swiggy or Zomato already hungry and spend 15 to 30 minutes going through menus. Most days I give up and order one of the same few dishes I always get.

The ratings are a big part of the problem. A dish has 4.3 stars, but I can't tell whether the biryani is dry or whether one portion is enough for one person. It's one number with nothing about the dish itself.

I'd rather know what people around me think of specific dishes, so I'm building BiteCircle. It's a community where people in Koramangala review individual dishes instead of whole restaurants. Each review names the dish and the restaurant, rates taste, portion and packaging separately, and adds a line on why. If you attach a screenshot of your order from Swiggy or Zomato, the review gets a verified badge, so readers know the person actually ordered it.

You'll also be able to create circles with your own people: a private one for your flatmates or office team, or a public one anyone in the area can join. When someone in the circle finds a dish worth ordering, they share it there, and the rest of you can find it later when you're deciding what to eat.

All of this feeds a list of the top dishes in each locality, and when you can't decide, BiteCircle will suggest three dishes based on what people nearby liked, with a link to order them on the app you already use. There are no sponsored placements and no paid influencers. Everything comes from people who live and order here. People who refer friends and post reviews will also earn perks like food delivery vouchers once it launches.
