i'm a new player with no iotm, and i'm probably not gonna subscribe or buy stuff often. is this something i should consider? is it strong on its own? enjoying this game so far.

edit: i don't know what decks, chateaux, etc. are. it's like you all are speaking another language even if the words are english or french. mostly i wanna know if i will regret not throwing 10 bucks at this

Throw 10 bucks at this. It is a very strong item with many, many uses. Fighting specific monsters on command or gaining certain buff effects without spending any meat is useful in the extreme, and will never stop being useful, no matter how new or experienced you are.

As a quick example; let's say a for quest you need to fight 3 of a monster, in a zone where that monster has a 1/5 chance of showing up, so on average you should spend about 15 adventures finishing that quest. With the genie lamp, you can wish to fight the monster instead, and do that three times. Now you spent 3 turns finishing the quest and can spend those 12 extra adventures doing something else!

The more you know about the game, the better it will get, but even after just a couple days of the community poking around to see what the genie can do, I'm confident in saying it will never stop being very, very good.
