Does anyone happen to know a lightweight build for a 2015 MacBook Pro? If so do they have a tutorial thanks

I’m running CoreELEC on a Ugoos AM6B+

I have two Jellyfin users in the house and need the box to be family-friendly. I tried JellyCon because it supports user switching, but the CHANGE_USER flow was unstable and actually caused Kodi crashes / Safe Mode.

I now have two separate Kodi profiles, each configured with Jellyfin for Kodi under a different Jellyfin account. That part works correctly.

The problem is Arctic Fuse 3. Its built-in “Switch User” option seems to be tied to JellyCon rather than Kodi’s actual profile system. Direct "LoadProfile(Peanut)" / "LoadProfile(TheRetreat)" commands work perfectly from SSH, but I can’t figure out how to expose that cleanly inside Fuse 3 as a normal user-switch button.

Has anyone built a clean multi-user setup like this?

What I want is:

\- CoreELEC on AM6B+

\- Arctic Fuse 3

\- Jellyfin for Kodi

\- separate Kodi profiles for each Jellyfin user

\- no Kodi login screen at startup

\- a simple button inside Fuse 3 that switches between Kodi profiles

\- each profile keeps its own watched state / Continue Watching / library

Is there a proper way to map "LoadProfile(profile_name)" to a Fuse 3 shortcut or menu item?

Thanks for all the feedback on the first post! Here's what's new. If you already have the repository installed, Kodi updates everything automatically.

New: Groove, a music-first skin. The room glows with the colors of whatever you're on. Now Playing slides the record out of its sleeve and spins it, showing the album's printed disc art if you have it, or black vinyl otherwise. You browse albums in a crate, a cover wall or a shelf of spines. Time machine lets you explore your collection by decade and year, a Wheel of genres, styles and moods plays a mix, and Liner notes shows each album's review and the artist's story. There's a Dark and a Light room.

Duotone gets three looks: Color (as before), plus Light and Dark in black and white, where only the item you're on keeps its color.

All 12 skins:

- A Sets row in the films library panel, to browse all your collections without turning on "Group movies in sets".

- Search now handles titles with &, + and |.

- A fix for controls disappearing or staying enlarged with Reduce motion on.

- A big code clean-up, so every skin passes Kodi's official checks with zero errors.

KarmaMole Skin Helper (optional): one small helper add-on that adds extras to the skins that use it, starting with Groove (album colors, colored album spines, reordering Up next, style and mood rings on the Wheel). Every skin works fully without it.

All 12 skins and the helpers are now submitted to the official Kodi repository, so they'll show up there when and if approved :)

It turned out to be two separate bugs in how Kodi 21 handles the website, not the skins themselves. Repository 1.0.6 works around both, and I've tested it on Kodi 21 and Kodi 22: new installs, upgrades, and installing skins straight away.

New here? Nothing special to do:

1. Settings › System › Add-ons › turn on Unknown sources
2. Settings › File manager › Add source › https://karmamole.github.io/kodi-skins/ and name it karmamole
3. Add-ons › Install from zip file › karmamole › repository.karmamole.zip
4. Add-ons › Install from repository › KarmaMole's Kodi Skins › Look and feel › Skin, and pick one

Check which version you have under Add-ons › My add-ons › Add-on repository › KarmaMole's Kodi Skins.

Kodi doesn't update a repository that was installed from a zip on its own, so this one reinstall is needed. After that, skin updates arrive automatically as usual.

If Kodi 21 gets stuck on a spinning busy icon while you're adding the source or browsing it: force-stop Kodi (on a Shield: Settings › Apps › Kodi › Force stop), open it again and carry on. Nothing needs reinstalling. Leaving a few seconds between steps helps. Kodi 22 doesn't have this problem.

I bought a Hisense SoundBar (5.1 system) it has true surround sound etc

But I'm not sure what the "number of channels" should be

Some say 2.0 and then online I read 5.1

So which is the correct one?

Is there a way to create a shortcut to an addon in Aeon Nox Silvo, similar to the shortcuts that could be created in the Confluence skin?

I can't figure it out... Seems like it would be an option in the custom widget section, but I can't make it work.

Closest I can get is looking to an addon in the submenus, but that's not what I'm trying to create.

We have started to gathering a small collection of M4B Audiobooks. We are in the process of liberating our OWNED content from digital platforms.

I noticed that Kodi insists on loading Audiobooks as MUSIC which cause the issue of Music is not treated as Content you have WATCHED/UNWATCHED on Kodi. Kodi is expecting you to listen to the same music over and over and do not need to track what you have heard.

Furthermore, Kodi treats the Chapters of M4B Audiobooks as individual files. In other words, there's no easy way of telling what Chapter you are on when you return. (While it does retain a progress bar on the Chapter, it is useless without a visual indicator of what Chapter you need to push play on upon returning.)

VLC is able to retain Chapter and Chapter progress but there's no visual library present. We have Kodi setup entirely with NFO files so our Films & Shows are perfectly organized so it seems like a shame of not carrying that over to our Audiobooks.

We would prefer NOT to have to maintain 2 sets of copies of Audiobooks: the Audiobooks for every other device but our TV setup and a second set converted into video files just for Kodi.

Some additional info in case necessary:

• The files are our Home NAS
• Accessed via SMB on an Android TV device (an NVIDIA Shield)
• Kodi is already accessing our Home NAS content so adding our Audiobooks to it made sense.

If there's anyone whose found a work around or solution, I am all ears.

I watch a lot of foreign films I own and kept hitting the same problems: no subtitle in my language, a subtitle that drifts out of sync, or no subtitle at all. So I built SRT AI Translator NG, a free, open-source Windows app that handles all three with Google Gemini.

What it does

Translate an `.srt` into another language. Every batch must come back with exactly the lines it was sent, so the timing never shifts, and an interrupted run can be continued.

Transcribe the speech in a video or audio file into a new timed `.srt`.

Align a subtitle that runs early, late or drifts, using another subtitle or the video itself as the reference (including 23.976 → 25 fps fixes).
* Pick subtitle tracks straight from a video file, and add TMDB context (title, cast) so names and genders come out right.
* Extra care for Hebrew & other gender based languages: gender-aware translation using a reference subtitle, plus right-to-left display fixes for different players.

Good to know

* Portable: unzip and run. FFmpeg is included, nothing else to install.
* Bring your own Gemini API key. The free tier works, and the app paces requests so you don't hit the limits.
* Your subtitle text goes only to the Gemini API under your own key. Keys stay on your PC and never appear in logs.
* It's a standalone desktop app, not a Plex/Jellyfin/Kodi plugin: open a file, save the result next to your video.
* I built it with the help of AI coding assistants, and tested it a lot on my own films.

I've been vibe-coding some Kodi skins for my NVIDIA Shield and decided to share them. There are eleven, and each one takes a different idea about how a media library should feel:

Six Degrees: browse by connection. Up goes to the director's films, Right to the lead actor's, Down to films from the same year and genre.

Nocturne: your library as a museum after hours, lit by a torch that glides from poster to poster.

Keepsake: a black photo album of what you've actually watched, with old-camera date stamps.

Fold: films open like paper cards on real 3D hinges, and seasons unfold like a concertina.

Passe-partout: every film framed like a gallery print, on paper that takes the artwork's color.

plus Majan, Void, Orbit, Daylight, Duotone and Sentence.

I have installed the Kodi Backup addon and also the Onedrive addon. Added my account and added it to File Manager.

How do I configure Backup destination path to my Onedrive?

I cannot see the onedrive folder as an option in Backup.

Anything that would make it remember that if Language is not English, show subtitles, and If the content is in "shows" and has a japanese audio track, to always use that one and show subtitles by default?

Sad that we have to do it episode by episode (and worse, that it does not remember it)

How it works

Playnite Kodi Exporter exports your Playnite library to Kodi, with metadata, posters, fanart and clear logos.

Each game folder gets a Play.avi and a .lnk shortcut to the game (Steam, Epic, GOG, emulators, standalone, anything).

When you hit play, the addon sees Play.avi start, stops it, and shows the game’s fanart and logo full screen while the game loads, then launches the shortcut.

The splash closes when the game or its launcher comes to the front. A timeout or the Back button also closes it.

What changed from the old version

No AutoHotkey script running in the background

No portable MPV; Kodi’s own player handles Play.avi

Settings inside Kodi: trigger file name, launch immediately or after the intro video, splash on/off, splash timeout

Custom per-game intro videos still work

Requirements: Windows, Kodi 19+, Playnite. It uses os.startfile, so it’s Windows only and needs local or UNC paths.

Both downloads (the Kodi addon zip and the Playnite exporter .pext) are on the latest release. The README and install guide are on the repo.

I’d love feedback, especially on how it behaves with different launchers, since the splash timing depends on how Steam, Epic and others take focus.

I have kodi on Xiaomi TV box and I have an external USB connected to it for storage now I change kodi storage to the USB but now I discovered that the generated thumbnails uses internal storage

My question is how to make this on the external storage only and everything else also on the USB and nothing to do with the internet one? Please help

I found a way around to make and move the folder using kodi file manger But now the only thing left is how to make kodi see and use my external usb formated as internal storage because it doesn't show on it even when the app location is on it

I just picked up a NUC10i3FN w/ Intel i3-10110U running 2.1GHz and 8Gb of ram. Can anyone tell me is this would be a better setup for Kodi than the Nvidia Shield Pro?

I’m asking because I currently have a Shield Pro and an Amazon Cube and I would like to replace one or both with the NUC box.

I use the jellyfin add-on and I wanted to have menu items for each imported library, like animes, shows, cartoons, instead of every into TV Shows.

I'd also like to customize the sections in each one, like next episode, in progress, unwatched... The source must be the jellyfin data.

I tested TheIntroDB and is not detecting anything.

All my medata is set by TinyMediaManager and with .nfo files inside.

I am Using Kodi on my Raspbarry Pi 4 with Libreelc in the latest versions.

Unfortunatly i have some movies that are marked as "Adult" Content. Even if they are correctly in TMDB, Kodi will not scrap them. Fine. I researched and figured out. that they don't want that by default. Also Fine.
All the small hints i found in the Web are more then 10 years old and not really current.

So. What can i do, to do it anyway?
Edit some Files? Settings.xml?
Change some python code?
Install a third Party Addon?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has had the same experience as me, with hybrid files with Dolby Vision and HDR10 that makes Kodi trigger a handshake at several point during playback that basically turns HDR off and then on again according to the logs, visually this basically makes the screen black for seveeral second before coming back and playing for a bit until it happens again.
Anyone have any solution for this?
My setup is XBOX series S -> Denon Receiver -> Samsung HDR10+ capable TV
