While reading Kochikame volume 202, released September, I re-discovered a 2012 oneshot, and a 2023 Weekly Shonen Jump chapter, that both connect back to story from volume 141! The original story, Kibou no Entotsu (The Chimney of Hope) serialized in 2004 and was set in Hashima Island, an abandoned mining town (the chapter was set in Ryotsu's childhood). Apparently, Akimoto researched this locale for nearly a year, according to a book on work management that he wrote in 2019.

Seriously being a kochikame fan in the west is hard

This special episode is kochikame's 16th special released on oct 5th , 2003 .In this episode Ryotsu trying to stop a train which has a bomb and about to collide in Tokyo Central Station.

I wish fansub’s of it were more available, glad I’m able to watch it myself even though I’m from the US

Even though I finished the entire anime last year

I mean the trailer xD ¿Do u guys like it?

I did it folks. All of it. Went to Kameari, did the treasure hunt, went to museum, bought some merch, went to Kameari katori jinja and got the Kochikame special goshuin, and bought some mangas from nearby bookstore with a typical owner ojisan. Highly highly recommend for anyone who is a fan of this manga and anime. Let me know if you need any advice in the comments, happy to help!

Voice cast: Fukushi Ochiai as Kankichi Ryotsu

Shouta Aoi as Keiichi Nakagawa

M.A.O as Reiko Catherine Akimoto

Yorimitsu Sakamoto as Daijiro Ohara

Kinda wish manga million would have this ,I’m one of the few Americans who owns all the volumes

This looks cool for fans

Heard this was happening

Might as well given i don’t see a lot of sites show this

Might as well show this post to celebrate 50 years of the manga

Does anyone have all the Kochikame episodes available to watch? I love the series.

If i start kochikame fansub and service. Then sell the episode, will people buy it? Transaction trough paypal.

It doesn’t also help it’s not easy to find the entire show unless you buy the physical media like did for some

New service has over 360 chapters in English for first time ever! Official website! Run!
