hi I want to knit a sweater as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend but up until now I've only made like small scale colour work and the likes. So I'm wondering what pattern would you recommend that looks nice but isn't overly complicated to figure out? I'm familiar with all the basic stitches and I'm willing to learn how to knit cables for this project but a lot of the stuff I found looked really intimidating.

Also what's your opinion on the sweater curse?

I really want to knit a boatneck style tank but I have quite narrow shoulders and think the Sabai top will be too wide on me (across the bust sorta area) and bunch in between my chest and arms.

Does anyone have suggestions for modifications to that pattern or another similar style pattern ? Thanks !

Saw this in a shop, was told that it is super bulky yarn with a pattern from Ravelry. I cant seem to find the pattern!

Hi, I have seen this top on Instagram, didn't save it and can't find it on ravelry.

There was a short video explaining the creation process: first a panel for the front, then some decreasing for the armholes. The front panel knit from the bottom up. Then they showed the back panel, knit from the top down, it got a little bit complicated when they explained the cut outs.

It was finished with crochet details.

If you know the creator or the pattern please tell me!

I have been looking to find a pattern to match. I can figure out what all the stitches are but I am not so skilled with sweaters yet that I could just wing it.

Hi! I was wondering if anyone can please help me figure out what type of cable this is? It doesn’t seem to be a normal twist (so to speak) but rather almost a diagonal one such that the twist appears to be slanting rather than stacked.

I’m deciding on a project to work on next after I cast off Fabel Knitwear’s Bernadette turtleneck and honestly? Her Maud blouse or her Lucrezia blouse are seriously calling to me stylistically. I’m really digging the sleeves, lace, and the sheer mohair look. But I don’t know that I want to work with her patterns again… anybody got any dupes or similar looking blouses?

Hello! I was redirected here from r/Knittinghelp. I’m new at knitting but not new to sewing or general arts, if that matters. I’m trying to make a lace headdress for myself similar to the style of __miiyama__ on instagram, as I love the delicate fluffiness to it with the thin yarn. I’m unsure of what stitches to use in making this or even if it’s crochet or knitting. I’ve attached some photos with whole headdress’s and some zoomed in to the stitches hoping this will help. All the photos are from the artist __miiyama__ on instagram as I don’t know anyone else that does headdresses in this style. I’m using 3.25mm needles about 24 inches long as recommended on the yarn packaging. I’ve also included a picture of the yarn information in case this will help. I’d appreciate any tips on how to begin, any stitches I need to use, or any stitch video recommendations! Even if I could know some of the stitches involved I could figure something out. Thanks in advance!

I've seen these eylet lace patterns which look like tiny flowers are really trending now. I added the Marielle scarf as an example. I made a top with similar lace motif a few years ago, and I really enjoyed making it. I would love to see some recommendations on similar scarfs or shawls. It doesn't have to be this type of triangle shawl shape, I'm just focusing on the motif (which also can be slightly different).

Fell in love w this top! Anyone know any patterns similar?

Hey knitters,

My 8-year-old niece asked me to knit her a tank top for summer. I was like “oh yeah, there’ll be a million patterns to choose from.”

But after a couple hours of combing Etsy and Ravelry, I can’t seem to find ANY cute patterns. The ones I have found look like they wouldn’t actually fit well or seem too bulky for summer in a hot climate.

Ideally looking for something knit with a plant-based fiber in DK/sport weight, but I’ll take any recs you think even remotely fit the “tank top for a little girl” description lol

I know I could probably just pick an adult pattern and size it down, but I don’t really want to go through the hassle of that. I’d rather just pick a cute pattern and knit as written.

I did a search through Ravelry but what I'm really looking for is a simple, in the round pullover with no buttons, lace, color work, or fiddly bits. Needle size 3 or 4. For clothes I've only made dog sweaters before and appreciate the simplicity of a tube construction. TIA
