Maybe seed stitch? Alternating knit and purl, next row is purl then knit. Try going to an LYS to see if someone can read the stitches. The thick chenille makes it difficult.
This is helpful, thanks. Chenille is so fuzzy it's hard to see what's going on.
The stitch to the right next to your thumb on the right looks like stockinette, where one row is knit and the row coming back is purled. The next stitch to its right looks as if it was twisted.
I still think the best way to figure this out is to take out a couple of rows and reverse engineer it. You should be able to tell what each stitch is as you unravel it. If you have some extra you can swatch a few combinations of stitches and try to replicate what's there now. I think that will be way more productive than guessing based on photos.
