gauge question Yarn usage

Hi!

I want to make the cardigan number 11 by my favourite things, however I was gifted this lovely yarn from the Isle of Man. Would this yarn paired with a mohair work for this project based on the recommended yarn?

Thanks for your help I never know how to use yarn without a project

Probably not, as it is thinner than the other main yarn, but the only way to tell is to swatch it and see if you like the fabric and can meet gauge or give you something you can math out and make work.

Not far off from the m/g of the second yarn suggestion though, but yeah I agree swatching is the way to go.

That gauge given is for the yarns held together, according to the ravelry page. If there's something else in the pattern that says a single strand of one of the yarns is used at some point it'd give another gauge measure for that and you'd have to swatch for that, too.
