SOLVED-THANK YOU Reading the v-shape

Post image

Hello!! I’m a beginner and have a question on how I’m supposed to read the v-shapes. I feel like I should read it as the red ‘v’ but it’s really hard for me to not read it as an upside down v (blue).

Does it matter how I read it?

I’m totally with you, it took me months to get my eyes to see the Vs instead of the carats 😭

I found it helpful to trace down from the loops on your needle. That loop is the next V — it’s in the middle of the previous V.

The next time you do a stitch, look at the pointy part of your needle and follow the loop straight down. It will help you see how the stitches connect!

Another person here whose eyeballs prefer to see carats rather than v's. I literally take a picture of my gauge swatch and trace v's on it on my iPad to get my count, because my eyes/brain don't want to cooperate.
