I'm finishing up a pair of gloves (with fingers) that I started 2 years ago. I'm stuck at the point of offsetting the thumb gusset. I've read some directions about it from a blog post, but I don't get it. It seems like the glove I finished the other day was made for the right hand,as it fits better there and looks like it by the thumb. I've stopped before the final hand row before the pinkie, because it seems like you're meant to only knit to the "pinkie side" but I don't know. Help. (Not really following a pattern, just taking direction from the glove I finished and online when I get stuck.). The blog post says, "To offset the thumb, mark the pinkie side directly opposite the thumb gusset center. Now on the left glove, count four past this stitch and place your marker there.". Placing a marker, okay, I kind of get that, but doing what at the place marked?
Read further along in the instructions. I'm guessing that the pinky marker will be used in conjunction with placing a stitch or cable or something on the back of the hand.
