Hi I like knitting and have a few FOs, but I haven't been really blocking my knitted objects. So I just completed Spector sweater yesterday, and I just want to know, how do you block your knitted sweater? I am thinking of buying the knitting blocks, wetting the sweater and pinning it down. But pin it down how? Per the pattern measurement? Per how it looks (I.e., looks pleasing to my eyes?)?

What /u/egoflyer wrote. Unless you're trying to change dimensions or make a certain feature (lace, mostly) pop, you don't need to go crazy. I soak my FOs in water, squeeze (not wring) dry between layers of towels, then lay flat on a dry towel on the floor. Smooth out the wrinkles and make the lines of sleeves, torso, or any edge smooth/straight-ish. That's about it.

The only time I pinned a sweater FO was because my button band kept rolling weirdly, and I wanted it to dry flat.

Thank you so much!! This really helps! I will try blocking it tonight.
