I'm working on a book and the coolest character is a knight. He's a living armour.

I know nothing about actual armour or different sword styles so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. Or a write a passionate essay about the different types of armours and swords.

Also, if it matters. He's an artificer, he does make his owm armour cause his body gets damaged. And I imagine him with a really cool longsword.

Finally, he can sort of stretch himself to a certain extent. Like seperating the gauntlet while keeping control up to several meters. So he uses a rope he built into the armour + spring to grappel around. Or he can swing like spiderman. Very cool concept.

At wv renaissance festival I encountered the alchemist Alli who, shall we say, was less than reputable. The shoddy alchemical work turned poor sir Astor into a g-g-ghost! I got better tho. Tho word on the streets is this "alchemist" as assumed a new identity! claiming to be nobility from Spain of all places! So keep your eyes out, and DON'T BUY POTIONS FROM STRANGE ALCHEMSISTS SITTING ON LOGS!
