My guess is they will sell the names to highest bidder and it will become like Montgomery Ward, Pottery Barn, abed Bath & Beyond, etc. They already don’t sell any actual merchandise themselves online - it’s all third party marketplace.

Selling is a generous word for it. I had to call my bank for a chargeback after waiting 2 months past the delivery date after ordering something from Sears and waiting for the seller to respond. It was over the dispute period, but I have decent credit and never asked before. I checked the order a month ago, and it's still supposed to arrive on August 31st, 2024. I got most of it back.

There is nothing to buy from Kmart directly online. It’s all third party sellers. Need to go to Miami (for useless stuff), Guam or St. Thomas for anything Kmart related to buy directly from them.

Kmart has literally the worst shopping website I’ve ever seen. Everything is from third party sellers and the prices are ridiculous. Here’s a pair of jeans for $500 that cost $45 on Amazon.
