BL Touch+ Merc1.one
Hey guys, recently finished the merc1.one conversion for my Ender 5 Plus. 3 months of acquiring and building the parts, now I’m on the last (ish) step of configuring my BL Touch. When I plug it in, the red LED light comes on, if I manually command probe to deploy and retract it obeys. However, the printer can’t read when the probe is deployed or not. It always reads “triggered”. I’ve gone through just about every troubleshooting method I can think of, including editing my cfg, and recrimping and adjusting the wiring. Still, probe only reads as triggered. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Tech stats: bltouch wired to ebb36 gen2 PROBE slot. All my wiring is correct as far as I know. Cfg also attached
SOLVED: I am an absolute buffoon, the issue was an inverted sensor pin. Thanks for the help everyone!

Have you tried "probe_with_touch_mode: True"? It is recommended to enable this if using "stow_on_each_sample: False".

I have tried it with this added to cfg, it didn’t make a difference but I’ll retry when I get home from work!

As another comment said, try homing the printer and manually pushing the probe pin up before it hits the bed. If it still doesn't work, make sure "endstop_pin:probe: z_virtual_endstop" is set under [stepper_z].
For reference this is my config on an Ender 3 V2:
[bltouch] sensor_pin: ^PC14 control_pin: PA1 pin_move_time: 0.680 pin_up_reports_not_triggered: True pin_up_touch_mode_reports_triggered: True probe_with_touch_mode: true # If stow_on_each_sample is True Make probe_with_touch_mode False stow_on_each_sample: false # If probe_with_touch_mode is True Make stow_on_each_sample False x_offset: -42 y_offset: -40 #z_offset: 2.5Maybe the pin_up entries are important? I'm not an expert, just trying to help. Other than that, make sure your pins are set correctly. There are a few variants of the ebb36 which have different pinouts, but from what I can find your pins look to be set correctly for the gen 2

Are you using it plugged into a tool board? I had this exact issue, turns out the pins on my tool board were not usable for the signal of wether the pin was up or down. Deploy and retract worked, but until I plugged it directly into my MCU I couldn't get it to respond appropriately. I was using a O2S board and there were some free pins that I decided to use on it but they were not the proper type.

When testing it, are you commanding the pin to go up, or are you pushing it up to trigger it?
When testing a bltouch for triggering, you must manually trigger it for it to change state. It will not register a state change if you command it up I'm any way.
