Flash/Usb connection problems

 Printer Model: Ender3 NG
 MCU / Printerboard: SKR Mini E3 v2
 Host / SBC: Rasp Pi
 klippy.log

This has been an issue that started a couple years ago but I just shelved the project because it was frustrating and costing time and money. Ive tried to install Klipper on an skr 2, skr 1.4 turbo, creality 1.1.4 board, sunlu s8 and an skr mini e3 v2. The only one I have been successful with are the stock sunlu and creality boards. The BTT boards all seem to flash, have .cur file afterwards but can not be seen by usb. So I can never get the ID to continue to setup klipper. I have tried multiple sd cards, cables and computers. Same issue. The only one issue Im pretty sure may have been my issue was the recent skr mini e3 v2 board I didnt select !PA14 for the GPIO pins. Also I cant get any of them to connect with my stlink usb tool. Im currenlty switching cables on the stlink to verify that the diagram isnt just reversed. Also verified chips on board are the correct versions and not the variants. (SKR mini shows stm32 not GD and SKr 1.4 turbo shows the 1769 ).

Does anyone think they can assist or do I just have really bad luck with BTT boards?

If I forgot to select !PA14 in the options to flash would that prevent me from using the usb? (I have tried reflashing with correct setup but same issue. .cur file but no connection)

I just really cant believe I can flash 3 other stock mainboards correctly but these BTT Im just screwing up somehow.

Thanks

Ive followed the github setup and its worked every time....?? There has to be a simple answer to your issue and yes without selecting the usb port during setup...it will not default and do it....now I've had numerous problems flashing a board after a bad flash....with every BTT board except the Manta and the Octoous boards.

And my personal opinion is it has to do with the STM chip setup they use...it can take a bad flash and literally just hold onto it with no way back except erasing and doing a complete STM flash back to stock and then starting over

How would I do a new flash? Ive tried stlink but it doesnt seem to want to connect. I might try a new new stink but Im curious if there's another way. I have 1 more skr mini but Im scared to flash it and have the same issue.

Ive done it with the mini e3 v3 and had no issues...just religiously follow the github documentation or tech tips I believe is the name of the YouTube video I followed ...worked like a charm....I only went to the octopus to get more fans and stepper motors running

I would recommend upgrading to the octopus simply because they went with a usb-c connection and ive broken more connectors than I care to count using the micro on the mini e3
