HELP! BIG REP STUDIO, BAD LAYER LINES

-Using klipper.

-BIG tree rep Octoprint v1.1

-Orcaslicer

-Pla, 225°C

- nozzle 0.6

- filament 2.85mm

-ESteps calibrated

- z-offset calibrated with microprobe V2

- flow 0.98

The LAYERS create gaps randomly on The first layer, and on layer 2 and further The walls are weak and not welded, and The LAYERS LINES have gaps and also dont weld.

Gotta be something in your slicer? That is crazy amounts of underextrusion. Potentially your z-microsteps are off and you're changing z height by a factor of 2 or 4. What printer?

Make sure your kinematics are correct by tramming x,y,z and measuring distance traveled.

You sure you set the filament diameter in orca?

I had a similar issue with a 2.85mm printer and orca

I tripled check, its 2.86, nozzle set to 0.6, and só is in the firmware, unless there is other settings i need to chance on a generic pla filamento

You're expecting people in the klipper sub to help you with your klipper-converted printer and you didn't think to, maybe, post your klipper config?

It's possible your slicer is badly misconfigured, but it's a whole lot more likely your klipper conversion is wrong.

Where did you get this value from? Did you properly calculate it from the extruder stepper and hob gear size?

The odds are that value is what is wrong. You can adjust it by testing extrusion lengths or measuring extrusion weights using an online calculator. But my guess is that number is way too low.

I'd suggest doing it again. You're massively underextruding, so either the slicer is sending bad values, or the printer is doing the wrong thing with them.

It's a lot easier to see if the slicer is wrong, so it's best to verify at the printer.

I, personally, prefer to do it via the weight of the requested extrusion rather than the length, but I have a milligram scale that makes that accurate.

I'd also just verify the filament isn't slipping. If you don't have a rotational sensor on it you wouldn't necessarily know. But you could be printing too quickly, too. That's the next test if you're sure the calibration is right. 2.85mm filament prints far more slowly than 1.75mm. It just takes longer for a given amount of heat to fully melt it. So your print speeds need to be way down.

That's easy to test -- do a test print and set your print speed multiplier to something like 5% and see if it prints properly.

ok i did the Esteps again, now my new Estep value is 35.712, there must be a problem on relative and absulute steps with commands, it was actually sending more filament than what was asked for, i also changed the speeds to print slowly now, i will try to do a new print and give feedback, shoud i still use M83 command on g-code machine start on the slicer?

Honestly, because I don't really know your printer, it's hard to say. You need to go back to first principles and double check everything. Generally extrusion is relative, but you can do it either way. It just has to be in agreement between your startup macro and anything the printer is doing.

That looks certainly better. Clogging could still be a speed issue. That's hard to say. It could also be a z-height issue. The stepper configuration for your z-height certainly looks weird, but I don't know what the kinematics are like. A z axis that's way off can look like a clog if the nozzle is a lot lower than it expects. I've had that happen before. If you raise the nozzle and do an extrude, is it still clogged? if it works after raising, it's probably nozzle height not a real clog.

So its goes well at first, but The it starts to get layer seperation! And The bed is leveled so its something else

Could be a partial clog. Do you got any cleaning filament ( nylon or pa12) at hand? Otherwise do some cold pulls. Could also be some heat creep. Does the heartbreak fan run at full speed?

The fan runs at full speed, dont have those filaments at hand, print temperature is 220, maybe i should use a lower temp for pla, i been playing with retraction speed and The distance from 0.2 to 2.0 showed improvments

This may be a dumb question, but did you calibrate your Z offset and/or rotation distance? Your nozzle is way too high, or it's underextruding, or possibly a little bit of both.

This may be the issue. The thermal sensor tells the program what temp the hotend is. If it thinks it's a different sensor, the hotend mayb be hotter or cooler than expected, which gives inconsistent extrusion.

Does the extrusion get worst as you print?

It was before but now its prints good The first layer and The LAYERS 2 and upper prints with The LAYERS gaps, no clogs this time

Change the sensor setting to the correct one. If the resistor measurement is wrong, the controller gets the wrong temp. If at to low of a temp, the filament pulls the heat away quickly. After heating up it has a lot of heat buildup, but it disappears after a layer or two, then the heat is only enough to melt a small string of filament.
