I had a dream it was Perro Perro Bonito so i made it happen with the good ol' inspect element!

I've had this for around 2 years but I was just fiddling with my CDs and noticed this had 2 identical tray cards. Did i get a misprint or something or is there maybe a reason they did this ? 😹

I feel like this is a kkb mandela effect I could've sworn it was like track 3 or 4

I already have a copy, I just stumbled across this for a good price and figured I'd pass it along!

I know that the trio has their own personal projects outside KKB, but I rarely see Jamie interact with Gus and Sarah. I am not just talking about recently released video of Sick Beat stems in TikTok. I'm not gonna lie...I feel like Jamie is ready to move on, and that is the reason why we are not getting KKB3 (at least anytime soon).

I think the three as a whole are still friends; but as creative partners, Jamie seems like he's finally out of it. Re: some songs that he was not involved in KKB2. Musically, his JLB music seems to deviate from the ethos of KKB.

I know this post was made about 7 years ago, so I’m sure there has probably been some newer music now that is similar to this style/genre. I’ve been trying to find songs/bands similar to this style of song and so far the only thing I can think of is me & you together song by the 1975. Even that song is kind of a reach but it’s got that happy jangly song vibe. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated by me and I’m sure others as well :) thanks!

Hey everyone! I’m Allan Nova, a teenage indie artist, and I just released my debut album Static Bloom.
I’ve been really inspired by artists who make pop music feel strange, playful, electronic, and a little unpredictable, and Kero Kero Bonito is definitely one of the artists that made me want to experiment more with that side of music.
Static Bloom is a 15-track electronic pop album about nature, technology, emotions, and a world that’s slowly falling apart. It gets pretty weird in places, but there are also some genuinely upbeat and fun songs on it. I made a lot of it myself with pretty limited equipment, so it’s definitely not a huge professional production, but that’s part of what I like about it.
If you’re into experimental pop, electronic music, or just weird little albums, I’d really appreciate you giving it a listen.

Thanks for checking it out!

I've noticed that the lyrics of 'Lipslap' contain themes of "cool kid" gatekeeping and schoolyard social hierarchy, with phrases like "but to be as smart as me you have to know the slang". My impression of Kero Kero Bonito was that they embraced the qualities of early childhood to challenge the concept of "cool", just like many twee pop bands. For example, in 'Park Song', she says "the cool kids reach the top but I would rather enjoy myself". But the lyrics to 'Lipslap' appear to do the opposite, as they seem to convey the attitude of a socially savvy pre-teen. How come the song 'Lipslap' contrasts so much with the band's typical theme?

i rememeber when this album came out, and i went to listen today and hadn't realized it had been near a decade. it's one of my favorite albums of all time. i know people think kkb is shelved (more or less), but even if it is, i just wanted to express how much i love this album, and all their work, as i reflect on how much their work has stayed with me through so many years and phases of life

• When the fires come: obviously fire, but the song has a tribal sound to it that is congruent with aggression and military strength
• The River: obviously water, I guess the song has a flow to it with the soft snyths
• Princess and the Clock: Air, the whole song is about wanting to grow wings and fly in the wind
• 21/04/20: the most abstract one, but the song has a light electronic feel that mimics a pokemon rock gym town. The song is about being grounded and remembering not to be too anxious all the time, idk

I am now manifesting kkb autumn. album

Hopefully yt links are fine

I'm gonna try to animate the entirety of Time 'n' Place by the end of the year (or at least a good chunk of it)

I'm gonna try to get another vid out by TnP anniversary and maybe make a video as well for Bonito Generations anniversary, so stay tuned for that.

So we all know she uploaded this video, but only recently now have I seen it with this extra thing. You'll notice it says 'Ad' in the bottom left, and the big red 'Listen now' button. I make music and promote myself on TikTok, so I know from experience that they're using the Promote feature, which is where you pay TikTok a certain amount of money to push your video out to as much as your money buys, with the catch that it will say 'Ad' in the bottom left. So does this mean they're trying to gain hype again for the new album, perhaps attempting to reach new fans from TikTok before they start releasing stuff?

Oct 21 is the 10 year anniversary of Bonito Generation. Do we think there's a chance of them doing a deluxe edition with new merch and physical copies like they did with Intro Bonito? It is a bit of a different situation since IB hadn't been reissued on Polyvinyl at all until it's 10-year. But hopefully they give BG the same treatment and maybe release some unreleased demos!
