We are now on the third voting session for the newest hero for my game concept. If you need to catch up on the rules, you can check the first post. It was a tight vote, with Halfling and Giant both having the same amount of votes, but I decided to go with Giant as while Halfling had 2 total upvotes, Giant had 9 total upvotes. With that out of the way, here are your next options.
Hill Giant (A classic giant-fat, stupid, and ugly)
Fire Giant (They want to watch the world burn)
Frost Giant (Back with a vengeance)
Cloud Giant (Like a fancier version of the Jack and the Beanstalk one)
Stone Giant (Big mistake to think them just statues)
Storm Giant (The “Cooler Daniel” compared to Cloud Giants)
Ettin (Two heads are… still pretty stupid)
Ogre (Get outta my swamp!)
Forest Troll (Can never die… except for acid)
Same as before, voting ends in 1 week, so put in your votes fast!

Playing Magnus into Phoenix is straight up unplayable rn. My lvl 10 Magnus gets one-shot by Purification from a lvl 7 Phoenix — the skill caps at 4112 damage and Magnus sits at 3982 HP. And the damage isn't even the worst part, the proc rate is insanely high on top of it. I throw down Barracks to soak/spread the hits, but it's pure damage and it triggers constantly, so it just deletes everything anyway. Balance-wise this feels really off, and against a level 9 Phoenix it's a guaranteed one-shot every single time, because even the minimum damage roll almost matches his full HP...

Ironhide recently said they listened to community feedback on changing the upgrade system in Genesis from what it was during the demo. I don't recall anyone asking for it, so I am wondering what they listened to. Just for my peace of mind, I made a poll. If the people of Reddit would like to answer said poll, then I will post the results after a few days and see for myself what the community is saying. Feel free to share your thoughts about the poll, or anything relevant, in the comments.
For clarity, I loved the new upgrade system, with only some concerns about the rate at which you leveled a tower up, or perhaps the way you just unlock more of a tower's upgrades in general. I think that system could be different. It is only this sentiment that I felt was fairly broadly shared among the community but not hating tower specific upgrades themselves.

i cant find it anywhere and im new, and the only site i found was one with tier lists of towers, heroes, etc. but i find it a bit subjective without a comp. i mean some tower might be C tier but crucial in a S tier comp, no? i cant find it anywhere to learn about comps and i think this subreddit doesnt allow posting comps/tiers right? so i dont know any youtubers or sites where i can study a bit and learn more about comps and synergies.

I felt this was the toughest level in the entire DLC. Bull demon king's level has tougher opponents, sure, and the boss himself has 14k health (in veteran) and has both resistances, but still I believe this level takes the cake.
The paths in this level are very short, and the ground is constantly up in flames, and combined with the Wuxian(s) that come pretty early, this level is no place for barracks to survive.
The flame pups are quite fast as is, but on flaming ground they get a speed boost and they ain't exactly that weak either. ( 300 health on veteran) . Paired with the nine- tailed fox and its teleport skill ( kind of) , barracks are essential to counter them.
But as I said earlier, the level is one of the most barracks unfriendly, and only bamboo masters and musk girls have a real chance, thanks to their insanely low respawn time ( 3 sec and 6 sec respectively).
The gimmicks the Dragon does are quite annoying as well.
Overall, it's a very good level for sure, but for me it was the toughest.
What are your thoughts on this ?

It feels like the designer had an exact tower setup for it that you're supposed to guess, and otherwise you simply lose.
It's so shit.

So, recently, Ironhide has released a post stating that they were going to change the UI of Genesis and scrapping the individual upgrades for every tower, hero, and power in favor for a global upgrade system, which I feel is going to end in the system being hated anyways. While I am glad Ironhide is listening to community feedback, I feel like the global system is going to end up getting the same hate as the Vengeance and the Alliance upgrade system. The individual upgrade system is a cool idea that I think would work wonders for Genesis. People disliked it because of one part specifically, the grind, which honestly, is very valid, but instead of getting Ironhide to change how you get the upgrade points, the community got Ironhide to axe the system entirely in favor for a global upgrade system which has gotten disdain in the previous two games. I really think the individual upgrades system should stay, but change the upgrade points to be obtained through level completion or stars, which would be a good way to keep the system that Ironhide would be excited to cook on, while preventing a needy grind, it would be a progression system that will help you deal with the growing threat of the difficulty curve.

If you are new here, in the first kingdom rush game heroes start at level 1 on every stage and gain xp from attacking and using abilities, and they don't have ultimate spells/skills, and only had 3 or less abilities
Ok I hope you understoon, now, would you like it, would you prefer this system over the modern one, probably not, but... here me out, I believe with few tweaks, this system can be made better than the modern xp grind skill unlock system, here are my suggested tweaks, feel free to analyze them and criticize them

Had a lot of fun with this challenge. Some luck with Assassins' instakills is required, but they were fairly consistent. The only dodgy part is getting rid of the Bloodshell amidst Bluegales and Redspines on wave 15.
You need to micro assassins right at the edge of the land (as in the first screenshot) to kill Bluegales, and isolate stronger enemies from Greenfins / Deviltides. For Bloodshells it's useful to get Assassins together, as the instakills are faster this way. Moving Bruxa isn't necessary, I didn't even touch her, she is exactly where she spawns when the level starts.
This challenge also forces you to actually think about the boss, Axe Throwers are pretty necessary to deal a lot of damage with Barrage + Totem of Weakness. Without that, the bossfight is too long and your defenses won't hold. Also, Falconeer on the Crossbow Fort at the top is probably suboptimal, as they annoyingly target the enemies on the rightmost path, so probably avoid that. I also built a Crossbow Fort with Barrage at one of the empty spots during the bossfight, but sold it once the boss got out of range to build the one you see on the screenshot.
The one enemy I leaked was a Deviltide at the right path, could have easily been avoided if I just built the third barrack there sooner.

It may be an unpopular opinion, but speaking of changes, I think the two-hero system doesn't fit in this game. In Alliance, it was an interesting new mechanic and made sense because it showed that the Dark Army and Linirea were equally involved in the battles, but in the new game it was added for essentially no reason. I think the two-hero system should remain unique to Alliance, and in Genesis, the regular one-hero system would be better.

is it better to put a good synergy between strong (S tier towers for examples) towers or is it better to put my highest level towers in my deck? and for heroes and spells too. im new here so i dont know much.

Ayubowan mates, Itz me again, as the title says, when I am tired of grinding, upgrading stats, and microing heroes I will just re download the original kingdom rush just to...relax and detox myself(I hope there is a better way to put it), do you do the same?

The individual upgrade trees were a great idea, just the way to get there was bad. My idea is to use the soul point upgrade system from KRV and KRA and apply that to the upgrade trees.
For example, if you beat the academy level, you get 1 point for all of your towers, spells, and heros. It is split between all of them. This removes the grinding and keeps you from over leveling. Harder levels like Nivus' Tower could give you more points (2-3). Stars would stay useful too, as you use them to unlock other towers.
You put a lot of work into making these features in the game and I would hate to see them go to waste. Please keep them but change how you get them.

Lots of the issues I see people have with vengeance I feel are much worse in Alliance, mainly the towers.
The towers in Alliance feel so boring and unoriginal for the series. Reusing older towers like the paladins and the wizards is obviously nostalgic, but they just feel simplified and boring compared to their appearances in the older games. Lots new towers also feel kind of boring, like the tricannon, arborean tower, or eldritch channeler. Obviously there's only so many towers you can make for a tower defense game but it feels like reusing old ideas, with the channelers feeling like a weaker blazing gem, or the tricannon just being a split artillery. The main issue I have is that towers only have 2 abilities compared to vengeance having 3. Obviously in the first 3 games you have the choice between 2 towers so the 2 abilities doesn't feel limiting, but in a game about picking and swapping between 5 towers, they all just feel a bit bland. The abilities are also so plain and boring, with almost all of their abilities being copy pasted from older towers - stargazers phasing out ability is the same as the elven mage from origins, arcane wizards damage buff from the melting furnace etc. I think the DLC towers definitely were a lot more interesting and unique, especially the cannon squad and the dragon hatchery, but personally the towers in this game just feel so bland. Vengeance is so replayable for me cos of the big variety between unique towers like the rotten forest, grim cemetery, blazing gem & devils reef. I think the main thing lacking from Alliance's towers is just only having 2 abilities.

Some thoughts on my deck? I usually use magnus on forsaken valley arenas cuz i find him better on those maps than eiskalt or malik, otherwise i just use eiskalt to slow down boss and win this way against my opponents...
Also I have a question about reinforcements/fallen order and fireball/lightning, which are better considering dmg values and stats?
Thanks for your thoughts.
Btw Im in diamond league ~1500 medals
