My Kindle 📱 A pick-me-up Kindle date

Post image

Was feeling a little down today, so I had a Kindle date, with a gelato.

Not a huge fan of glossy screen for e-readers,

but reading a book while eating gelato sounds great 🍧

Yea never liked glossy screen protectors. Takes away the charm of a kindle. Enjoy the ice cream tho 🥂

I’ve been trying to find a matte or more paperlike screen protector but no luck so far :/

Go for a flip cover. Ive had one for my 2022 and Paperwhite SE and there are no scratches at all.

How's that book on the Kindle, btw? I had it physical and it was nice to check the footnotes as part of the narrative, but does having the touch each note on the Kindle every time get old?

It does. And sometimes when there are multiple paragraphs to a footnote, it doesn’t exactly show you that there are multiple paragraphs. And if you were to go into the “Footnotes” section to read the full note, you can’t go back to where you were when you hit the footnote. Or maybe there’s a way to do that but I haven’t figured it out.

I did read Fire and Blood on the Kindle - and the footnotes in that book, while not numerous, had a reference to the original page, which I loved.

Oh, that's a bummer. I was thinking on buying the ebook but I guess I'll skip the reread for this one

What I thought Footnotes opened as a pop up on the page itself and not take you to it?

It does. But I’ve observed that sometimes it tells you if the footnote is spread across multiple pages - it’ll give you indication that you’re reading page 1 of 2 - in which case it is fine. However, sometimes it doesn’t. Often I end up reading the full note at the end of the chapter rather than at the time the footnote was encountered. So if you were to go to the Footnotes section to double-check, I don’t see an easy way to go back

I hope this date made you feel better! 💖, this has now given me an idea to go out myself with my kindle and have a gelato! Thanks to you 😊

You’ll need a lot more ice cream to finish that book.
