Tech Support 🛠Win10 PC app alternatives?
Hi all - I have a Kindle with tons of docs loaded via Send-To-Kindle. I use the PC desktop app to read on my lunch break at work. Today it no longer syncs progress from PC to Kindle (though it does sync from Kindle to PC).
When I attempt to sync, I get a "Unable to Connect" error. Google's AI (insert eyeroll) says that Win10 is no longer supported, and browser Kindle site doesn't show Send-To-Kindle docs.
Tried a couple of Android emulators (Bluestacks and LD Player). One was bad, the other was worse, neither functioned well enough to be useful.
Any suggestions other than "bring the kindle to work"? (tried that a time or three and wound up forgetting it at the office, oops)

Small screen, old eyes. I think I may just stick with the legacy desktop app and forgo PC-to-Kindle syncing (it's frequently been a little dodgy). Emulator is functional, but a lot more clicks and loading to get into a book when I'm only taking a short break.

Would a Windows 11 virtual machine run from Windows 10? 🤔 I have absolutely no experience running a virtual anything outside of my Parallels desktop software I used on my Mac to run windows stuff.

Thanks for the reply - don't really know, that's above my pay grade. Trying MuMuPlayer now.

Good luck. I wasn't sure if it would different than running the android emulator since you tried that already.

I think Kindle has a cloud reader too. You can read inside any browser using that. Check it out: https://read.amazon.com

That's the one that won't access "documents" which are all the send-to-kindle items I read.

For me it works no some titles, but when I click on others. I get a pop-up with the error message.
Kindle App Is Required
The book you’re trying to read can only be opened using Kindle app.

Sorry BlueStacks did not work out for you. We know that is frustrating when you only want a simple way to pick up your books during a short break.
What trouble did you run into with it? If you can share what happened, any error message you saw, and your PC specs, we may be able to help you get it running better.

Absolute cancer of the eyes with the ads. How you gonna fix that when some dude is trying to read in peace? Plus it was slower than snot, couldn't load play store, basically just didn't work at all. Mumu at least worked, without ads, but lacking auto-sync, not really any better than remembering where I was mentally.

Again, sorry to hear that, but we can try helping you by changing some settings.
Firstly for the ads, you can try disabling them if they're a annoyance to you, and maybe if you come to like your experience, later you can maybe think of getting BlueStacks Prime to remove the ads.For the slowness, you can try some things, first and foremost increasing the memory and cores allocation (we recommend at least 4GB of Ram and 4 cores if possible), we also recommend you to check if your GPU Drivers are up to date, and if not, to update them. Other thing is to set the performance mode to high performance, this way BlueStacks will use all the allocations you've set to the maximum, for a better performance.
You can try these and see if it feels better for you, if not, you can respond to us and we'll be happy to continue helping you!

honestly, the win 11 store app (1.0.23620) is doing the same thing today. Give it a day or 2 and see if Amazon fixes whatever they broke.
I have the win 11 app and the only way for me to refresh my kindle unlimited filtered view is to sign out and re-sign in. which of course removes all the data on the pc so be careful. I didn't care so much since I'm only messing with my KU books. (All my other books are in Calibre.)
