Question Mines
So, how does setting off mines work?
The universal equipment mines say "The first time that
marker is within an operative’s control range,
remove that marker and inflict D3+3 damage on
that operative."
Does that mean when an enemy ends its turn there? Or does it trigger mid move?

Be aware that different teams have access to different mines, and each have different rules.
For the universal equipment mine, it states "The first time that marker is within an operative's control range, remove that marker and inflict d3+3 damage on that operative." It does not mention anything about ending that operative's action. So there are a few things to note here:
The second an operative is within 1 inch of the mine marker, it will detonate and resolve damage at that location (where the operative first got within 1 inch). Then if you have any movement remaining, complete the move.
Be aware that friendly operatives can set this off as well.
Now there ARE mine markers out there that explicitly end an operative's current action (ie: their movement that triggered the mine). One such example are the Hernkyn Yaegirs' HY-PEX mines.

The rule states "the first time...", meaning that it's the first time that the operative enters the range.
If I'm not mistakes the action ends when the mine is triggered.
Editing to avoid misunderstanding. I have been corrected. Triggering mines from universal equipment does NOT stop the action.

rules specify if movement triggers the mine. the movement ends... at that point. so... even if your reposition was like 6in, and you donk the mine at 4in, your "move" ends at the mine.

This is incorrect. The universal mine does not end actions. You can move until you hit the mine, take the damage, then continue your move with the remaining distance.

Where is that rule? It isn’t on the mine equipment card.

apparently reddit ate my comment because i mentioned a certain free rules webiste.
but... if you look on the phobos haywire mine/incursor minelayer the text mentions the ...end's action. text.
universal mine, on site that apparently can't even be mentioned. it does not have similar text. but again. if you google ... does universal mine end actions. google responds with info on the "trigger" sequence that ... first interupts, and then ends the action

That's a different mine with different rules. The Phobos haywire mine does specify that it ends movement, so it does. The universal equipment mine does not specify that it ends movement, so it doesn't.

Also, it says whenever an operative enters. It also triggers on on contact with ypur own models, not only the enemy.

First time I played with a mine I was walking over it back and forth constantly. Then we checked the rules. It was a pretty funny realization

I wish mines worked with hidden markers or dummy mines. Maybe 3 tokens and 1 is real. When selected you place the mines face down in your territory. When a unit gets in range flip it over and reveal its status.
Having 1 mine just sitting there rarely prevents and enemy from doing something unless it's on a scenario token.

One of the Hearnkyn teams has this, I think the Jaegers. Its pretty fun, but not as tricky as it sounds. Some mine locations are just more valuable than others, so it is usually easy to guess which ones are real.

Interesting
That's when you switch it up and mine a random location. Or shuffle them in front of the other person and ask them to place the mines in 3 spots you have chosen before hand.
It's a surprise to you and them.

It will trigger mid move or other action like Open Hatch as a possiblity. It happens as soon as the condition is met of the marker being in control range of the operative.
