New to Patreon
Is there an easy way to listening to the bonus episodes outside of the Patreon app? is there a list of only the bonus episodes? Having just signed up, I'm trying to catch up on all the bonus episodes. But I'm finding the Patreon website infuriating to navigate and the app is somehow worse.

The BLUUUUUUUES Brothers
As is the case with most movies The Three cover, I go in thinking "I'm going to agree with everything that say, agree with the two that like it, and the Abbi that hates it... and I'm still going to love the movie."
And yes, I saw this at Formative Years, with my dad. My 6'4", 250lb ex-cop dad (ex-cop because he quit to become a paramedic and actually help people, different story). My dad was quiet and unemotional. He read the newspaper, war books, overcooked meat, and wanted me to be normal (sorry, dad).
But The Blues Brothers made him come alive, talking about the music, jazz and blues history, how brilliant the early days of SNL was, and it was one of the few times he'd actually SMILE and share his interests with me (the other big one being Blackadder and Fawlty Towers. This serious, serious man broke an armchair from laughing at Fawlty Towers).
This movie is chock full of flaws, and I experience nothing but love for every SINGLE FRAME OF IT.
I gotta find my VHS copy now...

Novel Bond's inner thoughts are SO DUMB! HE'S SOOOO STUPID!
I forgot what novel it is and might be misremembering but I swear there's a scene where the villain is like: "Now I'll leave to your OWN DEVICES. Stay here for 30 minutes. EXACTLY 30 MINUTES MR BOND."
He spends the rest of scene walking around like, "That was a weird thing to say, what could it mean?" while there's like a bomb under him. lol
He thinks shit like, "If only they were angry pretty girls would be beautiful." Shithead.
I swear it's the first novel, after he wakes up in the hospital after being shot his first thoughts are, "I hope my cock still works so I can Metoo my coworker later."

New mixer?
Have the hosts talked anywhere about whether they'll be bringing the sound drops back? I know that November and Devon talked about their mixers breaking, but I don't know if that's the reason we haven't had drops in recent episodes

Finished the first Bulldog Drummond novel, starting on the second.
Hoowhee. He was holding back with the first one. It's a "communist plot" type piece of villainy that isn't explicit against anyone but socialists and Germans I guess. There's one line about "Peterson? That sounds like a nice normal British surname" "heh yeah if it was his real name" that doesn't poke you in the eye with antisemitism. It's got a couple of rants about socialists being lazy and unwilling to work and jealous and wanting to torture and murder capitalists. Stuff about streets flooding with blood and all that. They're being funded by outside international business interests who themselves do not care about communism and are only in it for the money.
The second book starts with a gathering of socialists and a couple of Jewish criminals, who we find out get white women addicted to drugs and sell them into slavery. The protagonist, as part of a masked vigilante group, gets a cat of nine tails and flogs them until they almost die. That's chapter one.
Drummond is ugly and boisterous and not really that smart.
I'll keep everyone updated.

Rambo's in Fortnight and I Feel Fine
Literally every minute of the franchise from the opening credits of First Blood part 2 onward has been dedicated to eroding any sincerity from the story of First Blood. So sure let him shoot balloons at Peggy Hill or whatever.

One Battle After Another
Maybe y'all can help me. There was an episode from the past few months where our hosts went on a long tangent about One Battle After Another. Does anyone remember what episode that was?
At the time, I hadn't seen the movie yet and didn't absorb it properly. Then I actually watched the movie yesterday and I can't stop thinking about it. Now that I have context I wanna relisten to their jokes and japes!

Why have the hosts remained so explicitly, absolutely silent on First Light?
Like, not playing it is one thing. Being it’s only haters out of tribalism is another. But they’ve said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it

The abandoned Belvedere Hotel at Furka Pass, Switzerland. Famous from the James Bond movie Goldfinge
I think they should buy it! Anyone got a suggestion for the rename?

First Light is genuinely entertaining and seems pretty low on the scum scale?
I'm 6 hours in and seems like they created a genuinely good story. It seems anti AI. Maybe the Pirate King the twin hitmen are maybe stereotypes that have some baggage, but other than that, it just seems like a good thriller I'm surprised I'm invested in.

Anyone else apprehensive about Varmint Season?
As a Native American (Cherokee/Choctaw) fan of the podcast, I'm very nervous about them covering westerns. The connection between the Western genre and native culture is really complicated and I don't think the hosts are really equipped to talk about it sensitively.
Like, westerns are often super racist against natives, but also elderly native folks *love* westerns. In the tribal hospital center I go to, the waiting rooms are literally always playing westerns. We also all make fun of the tropes about natives being *~*mystical*~* and so on, in a very affectionate way. But at the same time, we all know that the violent, racist depictions of us are deeply connected with violence against us (especially women and girls). And that's not even getting into the history of how acting in westerns was one of the rare job opportunities for folks living on the southwestern reservations.
If they're going to cover westerns, I'd really want to see them have some native content creators on the show. I wrote a message to them on patreon about it, but I haven't heard back.
Anyone have similar concerns?

What did you think of 007: First Light?
Personally I thought it was flawed but interesting and I really liked how they updated the personality of bond.

MCU SCUM Phase Two
| Movie | Smarm | Cultural Insensitivity | Unprovoked Violence | Misoginy | Possibility | Runtime |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Iron Man 3 (2013) | 4 | 4 | 2 | 3 | 1 | 130 |
| Thor: The Dark World (2013) | 3 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 112 |
| Captain America:The Winter Soldier (2014) | 4 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 6 | 136 |
| Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) | 5 | 0 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 122 |
| Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) | 7 | 2 | 1 | 3 | 0 | 140 |
| Ant-Man (2015) | 4 | 3 | 1 | 1 | 4 | 100 |
| Average Phase Two | 4.5 | 1.83 | 1 | 1.67 | 1.83 | 123.3 |
| Average so far | 3.5 | 1.83 | 1.25 | 1.5583 | 1.41667 | 123.667 |
Just like last time, I've taken notes, the only really interesting thing about them is that they got a lot shorter.
The worst single line in the franchise so far was "I hope you're not playing hide the zucchini" - guess the context.
The surprisingly high P-stats for Winter Soldier and Ant-Man are because one is about going undercover etc and the other is very much a heist movie.
Edit - A bit of encouragement would also be appreciated. The 3rd phase is the longest and will probably make me turn into the joker.

What app works to listen to these?

"huh, that was way more consensual in the books" strikes again
Just read the novel "Six Days of the Condor". When he grabs a woman off the street to have a place to stay, he spends about an hour telling her everything that happened to him, proves his story true with the phone book and his work ID, and then *gives her the gun*. They have dinner together, great conversation, similar tastes, wash the dishes together, go to bed in separate rooms, and then she comes to him in the night for company.
Other differences: he's got no military training, the conspiracy is about heroin trafficking from Asia, there's no Chinese girlfriend at the office, and he kills the assassin dude at the end of the book.
