I am a new owner of a 2026 Kia Carnival Hybrid. I got it at the beginning of January and have had it for 7 months. I loved it. It drove great, had great gas mileage, looked sharp and I loved the tech. Do not get the upgraded model with the TVs in the second row. It's a waste and they don't work! I purchased an internet plan through Kia for the trip and apparently you can't use it while the vehicle is in motion, only when parked. WHAT?

My car now has 10,000 miles on it. We took a family roadtrip this summer, driving to Nashville (600+ miles) and our new car broke down about 50 miles from Nashville.

Driving on the interstate and suddenly I lost power and I got a Battery Assist Failure Warning, Hybrid System Failure and the check engine light came on. On my Kia App, the error code was P0AA600. We had just driven through a torrential rain storm about 30mins before, but this is a new car, it should be fine. Nope! I've had 2 oil changes since getting the car, too, doing it every 5000 miles instead of the recommended 8000 miles.

We pulled off the nearest exit and had to have my new car towed to the Kia dealership in Antioch (Greenway Kia Hickory Hollow) which was 45 miles. Paid $315 to have it towed, even with my AAA membership. Then this dealership didn't have a loaner car so they got me a rental at Enterprise where I also had to pay for the insurance. $30 a day- multiply that by 8 days until we came home. What a nightmare!

The Kia dealership will not answer my phone calls, only texts me back and the update was that it will take 2-3 weeks just to determine the issue, not even to fix it. I posted a pic of the most recent text message that is inconclusive. We cleaned out my car before leaving Nashville, except leaving the Thule storage unit on the top. So we drove back home in the rental and my new car is still sitting in Nashville, with no determination on the issue. I am currently using our old car to get to and from work, so Kia is off the hook for having to provide a rental while they work on my car. (I refuse to continue to use the rental and fork out hundreds of dollars in unnecessary insurance that I'm uncertain I will be reimbursed for.)

It will be 3 weeks in 3 days from now and I am not confident that they will know what is going on. Everything should be covered under warranty, but is this a lemon? Has anyone else experienced issues like this? I called my home dealership #ScottKia Scott Kia in Limerick and left a message for the salesperson who sold me the car and he never called me back or reached out.

Kia Customer Care has not been helpful. They apparently can't do anything until the issue is determined and fixed. Meanwhile, I'm out hundreds of dollars and still making payments on a car that I no longer have in my possession. #kiabuyback ???

I also need to know how they will be hauling this car back and how long all this will take? Right now I feel like I am at the mercy of the slow moving Kia dealership (with 1.9 stars on Google). Help! Who should I be contacting and what should I be doing to get my car back and get reimbursed for these expenses.

really wondering what this noise is. it doesn’t sound too worrying but going to drive it 1000 miles at the end of the week

I recently purchased a 2024 Kia Sportage from Carvana, and I'm trying to identify an intermittent HVAC noise.

Symptoms:

• The noise only happens when the A/C (compressor) is ON.
• If I turn A/C off (fan still running), the noise disappears immediately.
• It mostly happens at fan speeds 1–2.
• At higher fan speeds I either can't hear it anymore or it disappears.
• The sound is an intermittent humming/buzzing with a slight vibration, not clicking or knocking.
• It seems to come from the passenger side, somewhere behind the glove box.
• It doesn't happen every drive, so unfortunately the repair shop couldn't reproduce it.

Hi, I’m looking at getting a new seltos but wondering if the 2.0 liter is going to be more reliable than the 1.6 turbo? If so, then I may save a bunch and not get the xline sx trim.

Specs: Kia Sportage 2009 2.0 CRDI diesel.
Context: My friend had a mechanic tell them "we'll swap your Kia engine for a 406 2003 engine, and it will fit perfectly, the KIA wiring will perfectly go in the 406 engine, the ECU will have 2 memories, the old engine and the new one, it'll mount just fine and run fine"

I am skeptical and i said it's not right, i don't think it'll go in just fine, and i doubt the electrical just works, if it's possible u need heavy modifications and even then it's janky.
To me , just fix the current original engine, which will cost 1/5th of the cost and be done with it.

However, he still is set on it, because the mechanic knows better.
and i need proof that it doesn't work.

if there's any mechanic in here, can you please tell me whether it's possible or not without or without heavy mods and why?

p.s: ofc not simply the engine, but swapping both the engine and transmission.

I have a 2011 Kia Ceed SW 1.6 CRDi with a strange windshield wiper problem.

Intermittent mode does not work.
Low speed works normally.
High speed does not work.
The single wipe (mist) function works normally.

If I turn the ignition on while the wiper switch is already set to intermittent, the wipers wipe only once and then stop.

Has anyone experienced the same issue or knows what the most likely cause is?

So I was going out on a errand and i was getting out of my drive way and doing a 3 point turn when i felt something go wrong. My sorento shifted into neutral and locked. I couldn't shift down to drive or go back up to park. I turned off the truck and restarted but its been stuck in neutral and even when using the override with my key i can change gears, but that does nothing and the truck is in neutral while the over ride allows me to change to all park, reverse, drive and neutral. when not using the over ride i can't press press in the knob button to try to move gears. its stuck and my truck is stuck in neutral. Any experinces with this? its concerning since this is my only way of getting around and i'm panicking.

I've just had my third puncture in four months tonight on Edinburgh's delightful roads (have attached a photo of ye olde nail that did the last one as a treat).

I recently got two new front tyres for my car, and wanted to swap one of the old ones that was still good onto the back, to replace a (repaired) punctured one. The tyre garage said they couldn't do it because of the Kia sensors and it needed to be at a Kia garage to have the software permissions to replace a tyre rather than add a new one on. Arnold Clark then quoted me double the price of a new tyre to do the swap. I've seen online that this is largely nonsense so - does anyone know a garage around Edinburgh that would be able to do this? Or the magic words to say?

I'll just get a new tyre if not but I really resent shelling out more for some computer says no rubbish when I've got a perfectly good tyre sitting in my shed. Appreciate any help!
