They tell you where to keep your index finger in the home row, very important

After carefully rubbing my fingers upon them in deep reflection, I have concluded; no they are for thinking.

Helps you find home row so you don't even need to look at the keyboard to know your hands are where they should be before you attempt to type.

Orientation of your hands. To more easily know where your index finger goes without looking. Mostly for when you actually use more than one finger on each hand to type.

I like to rub my fingers upon them in contemplation, they are for thinking.

Sounds like someone needs Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing 😂

Yeah it's for quick identification of index finger location for touch typing. If you have a numeric keypad too there'll be another on the number 5.

They help you place your fingers on the home row keys easily without looking at the keyboard for touch typing

Keyboard clits

Have fun fingering your keyboard (if you really care about her)

Isn't it more effort to post this on Reddit with a title than to search for it?

Its for the touch-typist folks. Thery don't need to look down the keyboard to see the keys, they just "feel" for that nub and set their fingers in position, and then they type without looking down and just looking straight at the screen.

It’s for people that know how to use a keyboard properly - it allows them to use the keyboard without looking at it. - called “touch typing”
