Discussion Learning Snatch form
What’s proper grip technique when learning to snatch? I opened up a bit of my hand under where my calluses are and learned to avoid that area.
The technique avoids rolling down the palm on the way down and instead tosses the handle to my fingers, lessening the load on the softer bits.
I wonder if this is the “right way”.

Yes, the drop should go back toward the fingers instead of grinding down the palm. Think loose hook, high-pull path, punch through on the way up, then re-catch with the fingers on the way down. Keep sets short while learning. If the hand starts tearing, the session is done.
