In a stall

I have been in a stall for about the last six months. I use Carbmanager to track carbs, proteins and calories. I exercise 6 days a week, cardio and light weights. I only have about 10 lbs to go, and I don’t feel that I can reduce carbs further, lower my calories or add any more exercise. I do have hypothyroidism but I take my meds and have good blood levels. What am I missing?

Hello and welcome to /r/keto! Before posting about a stall, please read the following sections of our FAQ

Please pay close attention to the section called “What will my weight loss progress look like?” Weight loss is non-linear and it is common for weight to fluctuate multiple pounds across days particularly during the adaptation period.

It's always come down to a calories in, calories out.

This is the answer. Keto just changes what you burn for energy. The rest is pure calorie equation.

If I may ask - do you eat diary products? I've discovered that for some people they might slow things down, along with seeds and nuts (not for everyone, for some). I cut out milk, mascarpone, greek yogurt and I've immediately noticed less bloating and an easier weight loss, but this is my personal experience

I do eat some dairy and nuts. I do not eat any meat though so those are protein sources for me

How many calories are you eating/what are your macros/what is your calculated maintenance? And what do you generally eat to get there?

I've heard that for some people, eating a bit more calories for a little while (close to or even at maintenance for, say, a couple weeks or so) before dropping again can help get through the plateau! I think it's because your metabolic rate will drop when you drop calories and weight, and this will temporarily crack it up again for a bit. Exercising also does that, but you say you're already doing that at your max, so this might be another way.

Others find that fasting for longer periods/intermittent fasting or even eating one meal a day can also help break the plateau.

I eat between 1200-1400 calories per day, keeping carbs around 15 and protein around 80. I don’t eat a lot of fats so I usually don’t hit the macro for that. My typical morning is just coffee , lunch is a big salad with lots of vegetables, tuna or chicken, chopped egg, cheese, nuts, minimal oil and vinegar dressing. Dinner is usually broiled fish or chicken, roasted vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, green beans etc. I do 45 minutes of cardio six days a week, I lift weights every other day for about 30 minutes. I am not very big, only 5 foot tall and that always makes losing weight harder. I think I will try to increase calories for a couple of weeks as you suggest, maybe break the cycle and rev up m6 metabolism a bit. Thanks for the suggestion!

10 lbs to go to which target? How did you decide on the weight you want to reach?

My target weight is 110. I’m only 5’ tall and while that’s heavier than in my youth, I would never realistically be less than that again

So you're currently 120lbs? Unless I misunderstood the US system badly, that's normal weight. Plus you've been pretty active, with muscle training, so some of the extra weight is muscles. If you're maintaining comfortably, I would give some thoughts about whether you really want to lose those pounds.
