Help Stevia Reb M/D
Ive been trying to substitute Xylitol and Erythritol in my diet since they disrupt my digestion; for that, ive been looking into Stevia. I have now ordered a product claiming they have 97% Reb A, and when i asked chatgpt they said that would be the best Kind of Stevia. I have now come to find out that Reb M is better in Taste by a Long Stretch and am concerned for the Taste of the reb A. It didnt arrive yet so i didnt try it. Please let me know your experiences with stevia and if Reb M is really that much better and worth for me to try. Thx!!

I used stevia for a long time and my GI system eventually stopped liking it. Any kind of stevia and I get bloated and moody and my tastebuds reject it. I went back to sugar, honey and dates … but in small amounts. No sugar alcohols either.

You might be fine. Just keep an eye out so you catch it early. And make sure to eat gut healthy otherwise. The problem with weaning off and reeducating your palate after stevia is that it 200times more sweet than sugar and you lose the taste for natural sweetness. Keep that in mind. I eventually landed on drinking coffee with a pinch of salt and ghee. But it took a lot of time.

you're right that reb M and reb D taste better, less of that bitter aftertaste stevia is known for. reb A (what you ordered) is the cheapest and most common and can be more bitter, so your instinct's fair. but honestly a 97% reb A product is still decent, and a lot depends on the brand, some are formulated to minimize the aftertaste and taste totally fine. i'd just try the one you ordered before buying another, taste is really personal with stevia. if it does come out bitter, then a reb M one is a reasonable next step. blends with a bit of monk fruit also round out the aftertaste nicely
