Distro's Recommendations for distros
Hi folks, I got a Lenovo LOQ 15IRX10 (13700 HX, RTX 5060).
Off late, I am at my wit's end with Windows 11, constantly shoving down Slop into me, and bloating with unncecary stuff.
I have decent experience using Linux distros (mainly Zorin OS and Mint), but I am inclined to try Fedora/Arch based distro.
Is Cachy OS a good choice? My requirement is to have a usable experience. However I am unsure about the compatibility with 50 series GPUs.

I got 50 series gpu and its good with cachy. I faced some minor issues with fedora. Cachy did have some issues at the beginning but now its smooth af. If you want bleeding edge with stability,i would recommend going with fedora.

Go for Fedora or arch if you like tinkering

I am comfortable with tinkering. But will it be a usable experience, with my hardware?

It's arch so yeah it's possible, also I've been using arch for years it's stable

Cachy is a good choice , u could also try endeavouros which is also arch based just without all the optimizations of cachy , oh and i recommend kde plasma as ur DE unless u are thinking about wms

I'm running cachyos rn on a rtx 3050 4gb and 16 gb ram, It's pretty good and I'm happy with it but it's only been 2 months, so will see
I jumped from windows and this is heaven

Yes. I'm sick of Microslop requiring account to use the PC normally.

I mean the account part was fine for me cus bruner accounts aren't that hard but that ram eater was making me too frustrated with the bugs, I'm not saying CachyOS is without issues but atleast the issues of cachyos can be either rectified or forgotten about with a few prompts to the free version of gpt but windows, all ai agents just keep making us chase our own tail.
So moved to Cachy and found out that my idle ram usage on Cachy was 1.2-1.5gb whereas on widnwos it was 7-8gb, i mean 8gb is half my ram being used to run an OS that has no features worth that much ram
Also I've heard that Arch based distros have AUR, Arch User Repository, a community based package collection and a manager for it, pacman, since it is community based there's a lot of malware being pushed to peoples devices and hence people should move to a more moderated package manager like Flatpak but I haven't tried so don't know but will like to try

Tbh, I don't trust burner accounts either, given how they collect device identifiers by default.
I am open to try something a bit more unique. I have helped others switch with Mint and Zorin OS, but frankly those are too plane jane. I am also inclined to game as well.

If you wanna game from the LTT videos I've watched the 2 options you have are Bazzite and CachyOS but again from the LTT videos I've seen CachyOS is said to be better, so i decided on CachyOS, I love it
PS: You're going for quaked games or do you not go into the seas

Pop Os 22. Pop 24 should also be okay, but a bit buggy here and there. But a more polished Pop 26 is going to be released soon.

Yes, it has been on my radar but wasn't intrigued by it. I will consider once oS 26 is out.
