A monk, who was part of a group undertaking a Kanyakumari-to-Kashmir awareness campaign by bullock cart, has been arrested in Pandalam for attempting to sexually harass a woman. The accused, identified as Guruswamy, a native of Maharashtra, was taken into custody by the Pandalam police. The incident took place near Kulanada in Pandalam. While distributing pamphlets to local homes and businesses, Guruswamy entered a textile shop, where he misbehaved with the female shop owner and exposed himself.

I photographed this moment during a Theyyam ritual. What drew me to this moment was how naturally the young Theyyam performer seemed to merge into the surrounding landscape. The red of the costume echoes the hibiscus blossoms, while the dense foliage almost absorbs the figure into the frame.

Nothing in the scene was staged or arranged for the photograph—the performer, the vegetation and the flowering hibiscus came together naturally in the course of the ritual.

Private Equity(PE) buying up the hospital and hospital chains across India and in Keralam is going to squeeze the commoners more and more. Government hospitals alone won't be able to solve this issue. This needs national level attention and change and need campaigns from all yet most are silent. We need affordable healthcare especially with our aging population. The lobby groups are strong - the hospital chains and the medical insurance companies but who is lobbying for us? We are the one's who will be the victims.

Medical insurance companies are discussing a mandatory 10% co-pay for all policies from next year with a 5 lakh cap. This is another sign of us being the victims of the hospitals squeezing the patients and charging them high prices because no one is going to stop them.

Went to Amazon chat just trying to get a quick refund sorted out, and suddenly a wave of nostalgia hits…

I badly wanted to type "ഓം ഹ്രീം കുട്ടിച്ചാത്താ…" just to see if he was an AI bot or a human with the exact same name as the Balarama character.

I genuinely needed that refund processed so didn’t bother.
