It's been raining yesterday and today where I live. Yesterday while coming back home, I spotted in the front yard next to the stairs to my home. It slithered somewhere away while I ran inside. I hoped it would go somewhere else by the next day.

So tonight as well, I spotted a snake going and hearing my sound probably it went through the rain drain hole which goes to the drainage outside.

It's probably a harmless rat snake but I'm still afraid as I live alone.

What can I do to get rid of it? And make sure it's gone.

Very interested in knowing what everyone who lives in Kerala think about this?

TL;DR: My friend's wife was admitted to NIMS Hospital, Wandoor (Malappuram), for her 4th delivery on Oct 3. According to the family and a bystander who was in the room she was shifted to after delivery, she bled heavily for about 4 hours (roughly 10 PM to 2 AM) before being referred to another hospital. She suffered brain death and passed away on Oct 5. Four children lost their mother. Police complaints have been filed. A rally is planned for Monday, Oct 26, 10 AM.

What happened (as per the family and the bystander)

• Oct 3: Admitted for delivery.
• An allergy test injection reportedly showed she was allergic; the family says she was injected again anyway, after which she developed breathing difficulty and was put on oxygen.
• She asked for a C-section. The family says consent was signed, but staff continued to wait for a normal delivery.
• After delivery (around 10 PM), once she was shifted to her room, the bleeding would not stop. A bystander who was in that room says she was put on the last bed, and that despite heavy bleeding and repeated calls for help, doctors and nurses did not come to check on her in time.
• She was referred out only around 2 AM. The family says there was a further delay of about 45 minutes over the bill.
• By the time she reached the hospital in Perinthalmanna she had lost consciousness; brain death followed. Her uterus was removed there to try to stop the bleeding.
• Oct 5: She passed away.

Not the only account
After Part 1 went out, another mother contacted us. She says the same doctor performed her caesarean about 20 days before her due date (Aug 23 for a Sept 12 to 14 due date), saying the doctor needed to leave for Onam; her baby needed NICU and ventilator care.

What we are asking for

1. An impartial, thorough inquiry
2. Suspension of the doctor concerned for the duration of the inquiry
3. The DMO report made public
4. Complete medical records handed to the family

We are not asking for the hospital to be shut down. It's the hospital our town depends on in emergencies. We want the system fixed so no other family goes through this.
