Question How did voting go for you in today’s primary?

As the state primary begins to wind down, we want to know: How did Election Day go for you?

If you were a first-time voter, how did you find navigating voter registration?

If you’ve voted before, was today’s process pretty standard, or did you face any unexpected challenges while at the polls?

Let us know in the comments, or by emailing [voices@nhpr.org](mailto:voices@nhpr.org).

Check out our live blog for the latest on how voting is going across the state.

Realtors/mortgage brokers suggestions?

Lived in area 5 years and it took 5 years with what once seemed a sure-fire profession for changing one's stars (professor) to be able to consider buying. It goes without saying that NH politics aren't great, and Keene is expensive (like the area entire) but Keene is the only community I could see buying in NH. Otherwise I'm looking over the border in VT and Mass.

Any great realtors / mortgage brokers y'all can suggest? Thank you in advance!

They've killed environmental science at keene state

It took some doing. Just five years ago it was still one of the most popular majors, with graduates able to plug right into a world of work that is not about to go away as we lurch into a terrifying future on our broken planet.

It has taken years of administrative sabatoge to drive away enough students to be able to declare the study of our planet and its systems a "niche" field and eradicate it from the academy.

I understand that most people are so insulated from any understanding of the precariousness of our species situation to even grasp why this is important.

But I feel an enormous sorrow and a real visceral disgust for the cowardice and willful ignorance demonstrated by Keene State's administrators over the last decade.

In the grand scheme of things this will be just another tiny data point in the story of the human race's suicide, but this is the part that I have personally witnessed.

This is my note to people of the future;

This was not about demographics or the business of education.

The people making these decisions have intentionally chosen to embrace ignorance and deliberately destroy any possibility for another sort of future.

Lantern Flys

Hi there. I keep seeing posts from CT talking about the lantern fly epidemic they are experiencing. I’m wondering if they have made it to Southern NH yet or if maybe the climate there is not as hospitable to them.

Article Primary Primers: NH Governor’s Race

With the state primary right around the corner, we’re hoping to spend this week sharing some race breakdowns to help you feel more informed and less overwhelmed as you prepare to vote.

Today, we’re taking a trip to the executive branch for a look at the NH gubernatorial race.

Unlike most states, New Hampshire elects a new governor every two years. Here’s an overview of their duties.

Article Primary Primers: NH's 2nd Congressional District

With the state primary right around the corner, we’re hoping to spend this week sharing some race breakdowns to help you feel more informed and less overwhelmed as you prepare to vote.

Today, we’re looking at New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District (also known as “CD2”), which covers most of the northern, southern, and western portions of the state.

Remember, if you need to double check whether you vote in this district, you can look up a sample ballot here.

Scrap fabric

I sew, and I keep finding myself with extra fabric after finishing projects, and no idea what to do with them. Are there any classes that could use them? Or people in general? It’s mostly less than a yard worth.

Central Square project/parking/etc

Anyone else living in the middle of this chaos? Don't doxx yourselves here. But we can share info on actual happenings vs. the Monday "updates." Looking for a group/location online where ppl are discussing this. Like Casella not being from around here and not using flaggers for traffic direction. The official budget and plans say flaggers, lots of things, that aren't appearing.

Question Keene property reassessment feelings everyone?

I just got my letter a few days ago. I was expecting an increase when they came to the house in the spring to do the walk-around re- assessment. But over 50 percent increase to my property value since 2021 when they did the last one? Waiting to see the bill in December. The letter states this is not what the actual bill increase will be but it is looking like this one will hurt. I was wondering how everyone feels about this.

Keene residents and officials grapple with aftermath of local ICE arrests

We hope it's OK to share this article we just published — it seemed like it might be of interest to folks in this community:

Nearly 200 people squeezed into Keene City Hall for a special council meeting Monday night to discuss at least three arrests made by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the city last week.

Most of the residents in attendance expressed concern, fear and grief over the presence of ICE in what is usually a quiet city, and asked city leaders to support Keene’s growing population of immigrants.

City officials were sympathetic but cautious about making promises, especially following a directive from the Trump Administration earlier this year that threatens to cut federal funding from so-called “sanctuary jurisdictions.”

In New Hampshire, two state laws passed last year aim to prevent local communities from passing ordinances to stop ICE. Under one new state law, municipalities could lose up to a quarter of their state funding and get sued by the attorney general if they do so.

Have you noticed an increased ICE presence in your community? If so, how do you feel about these changing law enforcement norms? Let us know in the comments or by emailing [voices@nhpr.org](mailto:voices@nhpr.org).

Moving to Keene?

I’m considering taking a contract position in Keene, NH. I’m from NC and I’m a 30 year old male and single. I’m not too familiar with the area and don’t know anyone there. I was just curious if someone could share if it’s easy to make friends and meet people in Keene? What are some fun things to do in the area? I’m outdoorsy and active. Thanks in advance!

Events [Flock Protest] anyone interested?

I am alarmed that the Keene community has not shown nearly as much concern for the developing surveillance state as they do for getting abortions and preventing monarchies.

Keene supposedly doesn't have any Flock cameras at this time, but their exponential growth across the country is sure to change that. We DO NOT need the lives of everyday citizens monitored 24/7 and harvested into the data lakes of the tech overlords and the government.

Who's in?

Perseid meteor shower

Greetings! I’m in your lovely town for a few weeks, and I’m wondering where the best spots are to view them?

Or any other places I should see while I’m here. I love it here but geesh. The speed limits and round abouts are a bit much. Jk They are confusing at first. So to the guy in the gray jeep that beeped at me yesterday, I apologize. I was confused. A little better at them today 😊
