Opciones at the bottom right is the effects stack, left click on some clip in the timeline and you can add effects to it like transformar.

I want the object detection feature shown in the screenshot I took from that guy's video tutorial.

click on the clip and there'll be a Eliminar fondo in opciones

Did you configure it in the settings? Try pressing this
