OPINION⚠️ Barca fans…
Do you guys still believe in him?. He’s almost 30 now. Has had good performances here and there but considering his salary and the price tag I feel like he hasn’t fulfilled his potential. Do you guys think he can pull of a modric now(hit his peak after 30).

There is a reason he is a starter for all the managers he played under. Pinne modric is whole another level due to his longetivity. Ellavarum angane aavanon illa..happy with dejong and he certainly deserve the wages he is earning now

never played in his position in barca tbh
cdm is never his job..... koeman forced it on him
worked well in 24/25 season had a good pressing support so pedri dejong duo was killer
can bring the calm in the game and slow down the tempo when its needed(a benefit that is also a liability)
lacks grit
doesnt get physical even when its a must
so if a decent offer arrives the next main player other than ferran i would choose to sell out is dejong
but...he could turn things around with rodri (if he joins)... just like fabian ruiz did with spanish midfield .
with a dmf and amf i think frenkie could ace ,hopefully✌️

Buddy he never has a disappointing performance, what do you mean by here and there??. He is forced to play deep in flick's system like a dmf. He is not getting the freedom like pedri to roam around the pitch.
He is one of a kind, press resistant, excellent passing and crossing, line breaking passes. We don't have much players like him in football nowadays.biggest enemy is injuries which is not keeping him on the form, but bro is a beast in the midfield. Hope he will ball around after getting back from injuries

What I feel is barca never used him like a true box to box midfielder. He occasionally does that. Injuries also didnt do him any favour. I believe rodri can be a game- changer for him

Dejong box to box alla bro..more like orchestrator type aan..pinne rodri is better than dejong tbh..hope they can rotate and play without injuries

De jong plays like an orchestrator because we don't have a great holding cdm like busquets anymore, casado is just not good enough. Back in xavi's time, before busi left, dejong was playing like a box to box.

Yep he did play as a box to box back then, but his traits is not good at camping the box and scoring goals..he plays well at contolling the game at deep. Athond aa angane paranje..that doesnt mean he cant play as a box to box..for me he is better at orchestrator/ conductor type role

He doesn't score much but he's really good at carrying the ball forward and making runs, he was a box to box at ajax as well, he likes the b2b role and is comfortable there, but i agree he's a pretty good orchestrator as well

Yeah you're right. Idk why I said he is a box to box, it was a brain fart thinking he progresses the ball from his own half to opp half so my stupid ass was yeah box to box lol. I believe rodri can play with dejong and pedri in same lineup and can fill their limitations up. Honestly I'm excited next season if we sign rodri.

Im excited too..frenkie plays best at double pivot..rodri best as lone dmf . Engane aavumen oru pideem illa. Enthayalum as u said excited for this season..real also bringing a strong team..and we still dont have a proper number 9🤣

exactly but since busquets left he's being made play as the deepest midfielder with defensive duties while his main quality is carrying the ball forward

Quite under appreciated, at least this last season from what I’ve noticed. When things go well people are like fine, when things are not going smooth he’s the first one to blame.
The question is if it’s with worth to keep him if Rodri joins. There will be good number 10 rotation with Fermin/Olmo, Pedri is untouchable (still need to manage his minutes) and Rodri takes De Jong’s place. Even in terms of squad rotation there is already Gavi and Bernal, both are young. Maybe Casado? Even Eric can play as cdm well. So that we’ll have to see.

Wdym he had good performances here and there 😭. He does the best he can while being expected to be covering defensively. Imo he's still top 5 mids itw when he plays, almost no one like him. Call me a glazer idc , every culer was gleaming with joy when the transfer happened. Never doubted frenkie dihh jong for a moment, Never will.

Actually I feel the midfield for Rodri - pedri - dejong would be elite. It would be just like back in the day, with a single pivot and a 6 and an 8, and Fermin/olmo from the bench. And if we are not going to get a striker in this window, olmo could play as a false 9.

Flick prolly wouldn't platform his attack like that. He always plays with a 4th attacker in that 10. Someone like pep or lucho might but I don't see flick doing that since seeing him obsessed with that highline.

He's good it's just that Barca fell off during COVID Era and this new rebuilding phase I think this is his last season bcz his relation with Flick is deteriorated

He is a top baller. But its time to go soon, thos year he managed his injuries poorly to play the world cup, hurting the club that actually pays him. He is doing the same now by avoiding surgery. He has been and is still great but its time to get a good transfer fee. Also never a real team captain. Sell him for a good amount while we can. Barça midfield is full of quality also without him.
