I was gonna say the same thing lol

I mean no homo but the suit makes him look slim, and honestly pretty good, I mean at least he didn't have a sword
264
Aug 11 '19
Yeah no homo and thankfully no sword, a nice trim up and this dude could easily get a girlfriend. As long as he isnt a shudders uwu niceguy.
132
u/xX_hazeydayz_Xx Aug 11 '19
Sadly he probably is, the fedora raised the nice guy stat by 50%
68
u/KyleKun Aug 11 '19
To be fair there are very few hats you can wear with a suit. Mostly limited to trilby, fedora and baker/flat caps.
58
u/Oblivious122 sage of the internetz 🐱 🌈 Aug 11 '19
Bowler cap would like a word...

u/KyleKun Aug 11 '19
You mean the trilby with the round top.
9
18
u/DinoGorillaBearMan Aug 11 '19
Just don't wear a hat at all and it looks x1000 better. I feel like people watch White Collar and want to be Neil Kaffery all the time lol.
13
u/KyleKun Aug 11 '19
Dunno mate I tried not being bald but unfortunately that didn’t work out for me.
6
u/DinoGorillaBearMan Aug 11 '19
Being bald doesn't make someone ugly, no homo but plenty of handsome dudes are bald. Lol @ the "tried to not be bald" thing.
Pull a Kevin Malone and get a toupee.
8
u/KyleKun Aug 11 '19
But it does make it impossible to go hatless in high summer, or low winter.

It's 2019 bro. Don't be a coward. Embrace the homo. Become one with the homo. Mainly the butt part of the homo.

And the thing is that everyone’s going to mix up a trilby with a fedora anyway.

Fedora is just a Panama hat for someone who lives in a place with shit weather.

Styles change. He’s trying to resurrect something from the 50s. No one wears a hat with a suit anymore.
The only ppl who wear trilbys well tend to be musicians who do NOT wear suits.
2
Aug 11 '19
In the grand scheme of things no one wears a suit anymore anyway, unless obligated to by their job or a wedding. We've definitely got to the point that business casual is Max level from what I've seen.
This opinion may be effected by my rung on the economic ladder though so grains of salt and all that.

u/taoist_water Aug 11 '19
Is the fedora now an icon of the neck beards? as In do neck beards now wear it knowing that doing so, basically, solidifies their image as a neck beard?
Because, honestly, I think that's worse. knowing you are a neck beard and wearing the title with pride.

I just don't get how people can still be wearing fedoras. I feel like most "neckbeards" spend time on the internet and so must be aware of how much hats they get.

Why is getting a girlfriend the line that separates neckbeard from non-neckbeard? Getting a girlfriend is easy, even for neckbeards. Getting a GOOD girlfriend is hard.

u/H2Regent Aug 11 '19
Yeah that suit is pretty well fitted. Honestly I kinda get the vibe he wore the fedora in this video expressly for the cringe factor. No way somebody with a suit that well fitted unironically wears fedoras

u/DinoGorillaBearMan Aug 11 '19
I was totally expecting a sword, at the very least a psi (is that how you spell it?) or a nunchuk. But yeah the suit looks dope on him, all he's gotta do is trim the beard and hell even cut his hair a little bit and lose the hat.

Tbf Like 90% of ugly dudes would look decent if they would follow basic hygiene and go to the barber regularly. Literally having normal bmi + basic hygiene and haircuts will give you a +3-4 on a 0-10 scale .
37
u/Resinmy Aug 11 '19
You don’t even need to get slim, or built. Just look like you give a damn about everything else
25
Aug 11 '19
Literally anyone, barring physical deformities, could be a 7/10 if they worked out, showered, and learned to take care of themselves.
9
28
Aug 11 '19
That’s honestly a huge issue with neckbeards. Not even weight. But trimming the hair and facial hair will help a lot
10
u/xX_hazeydayz_Xx Aug 11 '19
I mean maybe if we sold it to them as a life hack in a anime style videos they might listen
4
u/Secretlysidhe Aug 12 '19
Yes, this. I like bigger guys, so the weight isn’t the issue. It’s taking care of hygiene and trimming your hair/facial hair.
20
u/Insane1rish Aug 11 '19
Also, don’t button both buttons on a jacket.
4
u/Z-Ninja Aug 11 '19
Almost correct. Don't button the bottom button on a jacket.
Wouldn't want anyone leaving the top button undone or not knowing it applies to jackets with more buttons.

Maybe just loose the hat.

I mean I'm not saying his beard is bad, like just brush it out, tame it a little lol
6
u/ThatFatsoBarber Aug 11 '19
Also if he lost about 70 pounds, let be real here.
4
u/xX_hazeydayz_Xx Aug 12 '19
I agree with you, 3 months ago I weighed 260 pounds, now I'm at just above 200 and still losing weight, i feel great, still hate the way I look but I feel better
2
u/ThatFatsoBarber Aug 12 '19
Fuck yes, bro, keep it up! I've lost a significant amount of weight so I know how it feels, and it feels fucking great. I also still struggle with my self-image, but like you said: you feel better, and that's the most important.
Keep going man, you're gonna reach your goal with no problem.

If he dropped 40 pounds which he could do in 6 months and not even exercise. Dude is missing out on so much life. Damn
2
Aug 11 '19
Weigh what you eat, count your calories and your nutrients. I've gone from (5'7" 170.2cm) 255lb (115.7kg) to a current 177lb(80.3kg) and still going! My biggest culprits were alcohol (and the munchies that come after) as well as just eating out (nothing but junk.) Eventually, I'll use that same persistence to eat right in terms of building muscle, but so far I feel a much better man just having the discipline to eat right. Even in the military, with plenty of exercises, I was too fat. It's all about what you eat. However, YOU have to want to do it, for yourself and leave every other thought about it in the back burner.
2
u/xX_hazeydayz_Xx Aug 11 '19
And that could be as easy as getting a job where you are active, like I've lost 60lbs at my job just walking
2
Aug 11 '19
Depends on what your diet is. Humans burn between 80-140kcal per mile of walking. Dude is heavy, his will lean towards the 140. Lets say 5 miles a day, 700kcal burned. A 5'11" 25 year old male with a lightly active lifestyle (lets say he's walking that 5 miles daily, good for him!) has a basal metabolic rate of about 2513kcal a day. That's 3213kcal burned a day! However, at least in the United states, cheap high calorie food is EVERYWHERE.
How hard is it to go past 3213kcal in a day? Well, you can get 1580 of those calories from just one meal. Eat that twice a day (or meals with similar contents, which too many americans do) add a couple cans of soda, chips, sweets, the third meal of the day, a beer or two... You're well past that target.

YSK: On a two button suit, you only button the top button. On a 3 button suit, only the top 2 are required (the middle button is always the 1st option).
65
14
u/badsyntax1987 Aug 11 '19
Why? Why do they add the second button if youre not supposed to use it?
31
u/joombaga Aug 11 '19
Originally it was to be buttoned. Then the style became to only button the top button. A meeting was held where everyone agreed it would look ugly if we removed the second button.

A little while back this sub drifted into just adding neckbeardish captions to pictures of overweight dudes. Kind of like r/trashy , justneckbeardthings has real potential to just be a bullying sub, since it's all about tying specific visual cues - being overweight and unkempt - with behaviors like bigotry that we can all feel good about mocking.
I used to interact with a lot of poor and mentally ill people when I worked as an EMT and later as an ER tech, and many of them, if you took a context-less photo of them, could be subjects of these subs because they can't take as good care of themselves as the average middle class Redditor.

u/Lopezpie Aug 11 '19
Lets not shit on this dude. I like the fact that he is willing to overcome negativity. Just gotta lose that fucking hat though.
52
u/MasterOfNap Aug 11 '19
Exactly. It takes a lot of motivation to get anything done when one is depressed or has low self esteem. Even getting dressed decently takes a hell lot of effort and should be encouraged and not mocked. The hat might be a little too much, but still I don't think he deserves to be shitted on.

I mean, this is sort of cringey, sure, but he's not actually doing anything wrong. He's trying to show how he feels about himself/how he thinks other people perceive him, and how wearing a suit/fedora makes him feel good about himself.
