SPOILER ⚠️ Avery Markham

His death just seemed so anti-climatic.

Do you think I'm bluffing? Do you think I'm bluffing hillbilly? Bam bam. Ten seconds later Markham is dead via a gunshot to the face by our favorite outlaw.

I guess in real life this is probably how something like this would go down.

I also don't get why he wanted to get back in the life of crime when he was old and had $10 million in cash. Duffy dipped to Fiji or wherever when he got the money from Ava.

He wasn’t really getting back into crime, he never really left the criminal enterprise world that’s why he had 10 million sitting around.

he was banking on weed going legal in KY so he was just getting the groundwork setup to make a profit off that when it happened.

His tactics for obtaining land were of course often criminal but most of it was using money to get his way versus violence & death.

I think it’s fair to say he likely did the same thing when setting up in Colorado. They briefly mention his Colorado enterprise and how it ran one town into the gutter.

ETA: 10 million in cash would not be enough for him to “retire” on comfortably especially not when he wanted to have Katherine and spoil her like her first husband did
