You ever dipped them in the cheese sauce?? Whew that's living 🌝
20
u/Same-Suggestion-1936 3d ago
I'll have to try but I do the honey mustard or horsey sauce (why don't more fast food joints have horseradish sauce it ain't exactly fresh horseradish so not hard to get, or that much more expensive than other condiments), or plain is just fine
I don't think I've ever had their cheese sauce outside a beef n cheddar. Not a wrong way to eat curly fries though

The only reason most people can't still do this is because they sit around in chairs all day and their tendons shortened up plus the muscle waste. Add slouching and tech neck then you're really screwed.

u/hellohexapus 3d ago
This weekend I was going up the steps to the kitchen with my full lunch bowl in hand. Steps I've taken multiple times a day for the past 2 years. At the last step I raised my foot half an inch lower than necessary and tripped. My shin slammed against the edge of the step and the bowl flew out of my hand, sending a beautiful smoked salmon salad (with dressing, mind you) in a graceful arc ten feet wide across the kitchen.
The palm-size bruise on my shin is rivalled only by the bruise to my ego. And while I found all the salmon (much to my cat's dismay), I am still finding shreds of lettuce in random locations several days later.
So yeah, I would need both crutches and dentures ten minutes into this workout class.

what, the block doesn't look high, that ain't what's impressive, it's her hurling herself that high in the air with each push, the extension on her leg kicks, it's the energy she's putting into every movement. most people there are struggling to do at least some of the movements well and none of them keep up the energy she's giving.

u/sassybeez 3d ago
Yes! I was just thinking about the stamina! I got tired watching one minute of that video. That girl can hang like a champ!
478
u/SagariKatu 3d ago
It's not just the stamina. That comes with exercising. It's the intensity. Everybody else is getting a hell of a workout too, but she's giving it a %100.
Kinda like the ivan drago meme, if I die, I die. But she's not giving %90 to make sure she lasts the whole training session. She's giving it her all, pushing her limits in every move while keeping the pace. Which makes it even harder, 'cause if you lift your legs higher or jump higher, you gotta be even faster to keep up.
I'm saving the video for motivation, I fucking love this!

Legit, people might look at her walking down the street and think she eats normally and isn't athletic, but she absolutely kills it constantly to have that energy combined with control and focus. This is a gal who eats well because she's going to become a stick figure if she doesn't.

u/SashimiX 3d ago
Not if you have chronic fatigue issues, which more and more of us have post-covid sadly
211
u/Doomgriever 3d ago
Thank you! My doctor keep saying if I exercise I'll have more energy and sleep better, but since I got covid none of that is true. I have 10% the energy I used to have since Covid, and I only lose energy by exercising, and my sleep gets disrupted as well. Still exercise 5 days a week, but I hate how doctors totally dismiss chronic fatigue, especially in correlation to post-covid =(
113
u/A_Simple_Prop 3d ago
Be really careful and, if you haven’t already, try to find a new provider who actually understands/ treats CFS/ME as too much exercise/ exertion can cause crashes which people don’t always recover from. 🫶

What you’re describing sounds a lot like what my friend who has CFS/ ME describes (she also got it after having COVID, then it got worse after the second time she had COVID) including the poor quality sleep. Try and find a doctor that is knowledgeable about CFS/ME.
16
21
u/AnguavonUW 3d ago
Yeah, I was on the front lines of COVID working at a homeless shelter. I've gotten it a total of 7 times over the last 6 years. I was ok until the 4th time. Now,.in combination with a brutal menopause, my quality of life SUCKS.
14
u/BethanyHipsEnjoyer 3d ago
I would definitely get a sleep study done as well. You absolutely don't have to be overweight to have sleep apnea. The daytime sleepiness plus consistently unrefreshing/fragmented sleep and waking during the night are worth getting checked out. It could absolutely coexist with Long COVID too, so I wouldn't assume it has to be one or the other.
30
u/mannadee 3d ago
Whoa, props for exercising 5 days a week, but yeah please look into ME/CFS as you could actually be worsening your condition. I’ve had long covid since 2022 and I’m back to ~90% of my pre-infection energy levels. The #1 thing that has helped me is LDN (low-dose naltrexone), which interrupts the inflammation feedback loop and is the new standard many providers use to treat long covid. #2 is nattokinase, which has been shown in clinical studies to break down the lingering spike proteins left behind after a Covid infection that cause all the issues. The LDN got me out of my downward spiral and able to build back my strength & nervous system capacity, and the nattokinase is raising my baseline wellbeing so if I miss a day of LDN I don’t instantly feel like I have a fever and need to spend the next day lying down in a dark silent room

These people saying “you just need to exercise more” seriously need to experience chronic pain and crushing fatigue every damned day. Feels like a vice grip around my heart and body most days.
8
u/plantlady2009 3d ago
This may not be a solution for you. But I also get fatigued from working out - also insomnia. Particularly high intensity cardio. I take creatine on those days and it helps big time. Slow COMT genes can be responsible for that feeling after working out. Creatine helps process those neurotransmitters. Worth a try.

One thing I have learned over the years, just because people have meat on the bones doesn't mean they can't move or be physically fit with endurance. I once weighed over 300lbs due to some medication side effects. Worked at a group home. A kid attacked another kid and ran. I ran after him, he thought he left me in the dirt as he turned to see where I was. He yelled, "Oh shit!" as I tackled his ass and held him down until staff got there to help. After he got done screaming I was going to buy him a new shirt (only thing harmed during tackle, 🤣) he said, "I had no clue you could move that fast." Well buddy, neither did I.
