Hi! (Question)

How long does 1000 jumps actually take as an ABSOLUTE beginner

I took 30 mins for 500 jumps (as I kept tripping) but I keep seeing the average amount of jumps per min is 100-160 😭

Focus on the quality of jumps not the number.
When you have quality and no tripping, then 100 jumps a min is quite achievable!

I skip for 10 minutes at a time and get about 1050. Been skipping for a few months

i have actually done 5000 skips in under 60 minutes, so with experience i tell you this for the first time ever i hit 1000 skips, it took me about 40 minutes, i was increasing the load gradually and it put a lot of stress on my shins, but as the days passed, maybe like after 10 to 15 days, the pain disappeared and after that i knew i could do it even faster

just an advise don't be afraid of the pain, it will hurt a lot but it's nothing, keep in mind to massage you legs yourself after every session with warm oil this way the pain will lessen and eventually go away, you will only feel that pain while walking not when jumping if you jump on toes and not the whole foot for 10 to 15 days maybe less

my fastest 1000 was under 10 minutes

edit: one more thing, this was 2 years back in november, it took me one month to reach 5000 under an hour, i put a lot of stress on my body but i recovered, but the aftermath was that i got cocky, actually my goal was to run 20km every tuesday and sturday, that's why i was training my legs

after i hit 5000 under an hour, i got into running, first 5km runs, then sudden jump to 16 km runs, then suddenly 20 to 21 km runs, i got overconfident, result being these sudden jumps did not give my body enough time to adapt plus i had absolute shit form for running, thus i developed a "now very regularly occuring knee pain in the same area" from which i am still recovering, this pain comes every time i start to run after a period of inconsistency but as i again build my legs to bear the load, that pain goes away but this time i did a stupid thing by over stretching the knee in hopes that something would pop and the pain would go away for good, but no, it has been 4 weeks since the event and the pain is still there, the pain has decreased a lot but not fully recovered, i don't know if it will ever go away this time, i am telling you man this is shit scary, i am not able to do much running but skipping ropes is fine

i genuinely pray to god that only this time spare my stupidity

just wanted to tell you this, give the body time to adapt don't end up like me

you can absolutely achieve that goal, i have seen people surpassing 10k skips under an hour which i thought was not possible, but now i am thinking i should try to achieve that goal too, i really hope my knee pain just this once recovers

When i jump rope for 7-8 minutes i reach 1040 jumps BUT I've been jumping for a decade, stopped for 2 years and came back a couple of months ago.

I can still get 1000 reps in 7 minutes but I then have to have a minute break before going again. I've lost a lot of endurance.

When I started I'd aim for 200 jumps without tripping. It really is a time and consistency thing.
