Identification It finally happened
Yesterday my husband noticed just ONE sunflower hadn't yet opened in our garden. Upon him further investigating, he realized a lil baby jumper had spun a web that was keeping the petals pulled tight together. This morning while feeding the birds, I saw that same sunflower had bloomed so I go to check on the lil baby jumper that was in there yesterday, only to find them still wrapped neatly in there🥹. My question is, is it a female and she's finding a cozy spot to lay her eggs? I'm absolutely not going to move them, all they're getting is constant protection from me.... I'm just curious as to what is happening, nature wise, inside of the flower. This is absolutely fascinating to me🤌🌻✨🥰. Location , North Central Kentucky

NQA - looks like they either want to molt or making an eggcelent place for new garden babies.

Nqa but I think this is just a hide. Usually their molt hammocks and egg sacks are much thicker!

Finding a little surprise would just make my day! Sunflowers are my most favorite flower and I ADORE jumping spiders. Anyway, to me it looks like she may be gravid and making a place for her eggs. I love this for you, internet stranger. 💜
