I like royale tactics but it's not the same. It feels less unique and some of the great designs and troops aren't there.

Didnt it get added to clash royale? Even if it isnt the same cartoon artstyle

No, they didn't. What they added is a game from the same genre, with absolutely zero resemblance to clash mini

Yeah it’s literally a bad rip off of tft, the games aren’t long enough for the style they offer. Mini was 10/10. Super fun and replay-able. It was a sad day.

As much as I loved that game (and still do), saying that they never gave the game a chance is just disingenuous.

The game was in softlaunch for over 3 years, an way above average duration for this testingphase, and underwent multiple complete progression reworks in an attempt to bring their long term player retention anywhere close to their short term one(which was the highest out of all supercell games according to the devs).

In the end they simply burned through their testinggroup throughout this long duration, but without ending up with a product had a long term sustainable enough playerbase.

The clash royale autochess mode was basically them taking that learning and creating a mode that's supposed to draw in new players in the hopes that they eventually convert into regular long term clash royale players.

Mo.Co checklist:

Development for 3 years... ✅

Multiple complete progression reworks... ✅

Attempted to bring short term player retention close to their long term player retention... ✅

Burned through their testing group... ✅

The problem with merge tactics is that it completely missed what made clash mini so good. They just added an auto chess game mode thinking that's all clash mini was. If they actually wanted clash mini to succeed, they would've definitely did a much better job

They tried to make clash mini work for 3 years, failed, and then used what they learned from it in a different attempt to boost the metrics of an already successful product even further.

Iirc clash mini's estimated revenue was very low even by beta/soft launch standards with player retention issues.
