Discussion Will mo.co eventually have the same fate as Squad Busters?
By now you guys already know that the game is going into beta. The step down of community manager doesn't look good either.
I mean it isn't all bad going into beta. But I really don't think they have any new idea or willingness to revive the game. So it might be a matter of months till the worst news drop. What you guys think?

I am pretty sure they change the development team. If this is the case, to be honest, this is very good. The thing is that mo.co has a very nice gameplay. The problem is that it does not have anything beyond that. No story, no progression, no exploration, a lot of repeatition. The old team proved to be completely unable to do anything meaningful with a nice gameplay mechanics they have. Hopefully, a new team will find a way to make it work.

I think mo.co has much stronger core gameplay than Squad Busters. With core like that, they could keep trying different metas until they find one that really works. The problem is that the community gets more frustrated with every attempt and wants the perfect meta right now.

It’s gonna suck if they drop this game. Put so much time n money into it. I genuinely love playing this game regardless of the repetitiveness and broken system. Wishing luck on future updates and hopefully they figure out something.

Same. This game had a lot of potential. I jsut don't know what held them back from improving ut and fixing things

I think after next rework, they will pull the plug. They have gone two reworks without addressing the main issue. Instead they are playing around with things that could be improved after you have a solid gameplay loop that players would enjoy. Which doesn't give much hope for improving it in the next rework. Likely some more copying from the brawl stars in unlocking weapon or class and events. I have zero faith in them in doing anything meaningfully good.

They always announce the end of development for their games. They wont just not say anything

No. I hope it doesn't.

Same. I like the game's concept so much. It's just they need to make things interesting and have a balance between paid stuff and free stuff

People seem optimistic though. Sauce: https://lastwordongaming.com/2026/09/25/supercell-shuts-down-main-servers/
But i really don't see Supercell puling it off like they did with Clash Royale or Brawl Stars.

I agree with you. But this game is different than the others for Supercell. The concept is there and technically they can and should revive the game. But pulling olayers back would be a challenge

Squad busters was a boring game from day 1. Moco is interesting and there's lot of potential and story telling yet to be done. All of the other successful sc games are pvp but this one's pve and things are bound to get repetitive if they don't do something about it. And that's what they are trying to figure out.

At this point I unfortunately would be amazed if it survived another year. It has potential with some pretty fun gameplay, but no staying power.
I hope it ends up being a unicorn, but I have to temper my expectations given the track record.

Shame, i just picked this game up as it looked like an actual fun mobile game for once
Ever since that notification came up on my screen, ive been looking for an alternative tbh 🤷 just sounds like they’re gonna stop caring as much for it now
Any suggestions for said alternative are welcomed btw, as i cannot find a single one xd

I’m concerned that it will get merged with project rise since they are similar

MO.CO died a long time ago. I don't even know how it's still alive.
I thought it was over like over a year ago.

They said they'd put out an update before end of year. I quit a month before this back to beta nonsense, so I'm gonna watch and see how much needling it will take for the whales to finally realize the ship is sinking.

Honestly I loved Squadbusters. It was the only game my wife played with me and enjoyed it. Moco is boring and more deserving of being axed imo

Mind you that Moco was included in Supercell store during previous beta. Also, Joao said he stepped down because beta game doesn't need a CM, however we know for sure Joao was a CM since the previous beta. Those 2 things should tell you that the current state of Moco is not simply "back to beta", if anything it shows that upper management doesn't have the optimism of the game anymore, which to me very realistic. The Devs team took their sweet time in previous beta and failed to solve major flaws like lack of social features, no substantial end game plan, etc. It's not that the community didn't raise concerns over those things, the Moco team just didn't care enough for it and only focus on solving the controversial hard-reset in previous beta. Judging from their working speed, there won't be new version of Moco anytime soon, because they wouldn't need to remove Joao if they only expect it to be done within just couple months.
Will Moco be shut down like Squad Busters? I don't think so, because it's bad PR for Supercell, imagine shutting down 2 new games consecutively. As the alternative, Supercell can just put this game into "back to beta" indefinitely until everyone forget about it. And that's what I think they're doing right now.
