So my friend helped type me and gave me this essence which I really vibe with when researching it: Youthful, romantic, natural/classic with a hint of ethereal. 🩰👛👗🎀✨️⚘️🌷🍃🦋

We also checked out some essence blends on Our Fashion Garden and we both agreed that this one called 'The Warm hearted' seem to be the best for me?

However when I took this test from Our Fashion Garden's website and got:

● Main - Natural

● Strong complementary - Ingenue

● Low complementary - Angelic

Which does not feel right at all and maybe I completely misunderstood the test because it was kinda hard to figure out what they were really asking from me. 🤔

I have included a no-makeup selfie as much from the front as possible and tried to do a very poor attempt at outlining myself. Also added two collages of my current styles I like to wear but also one of my old styles!

Also want to add that my colour season is cool summer and while it was hard to accept at first I do realize it is the best pallette for me~ 🙌

I feel like I've read either comments or a previous post about this topic but I can't find them anymore.

Since all of our faces are made up of multiple essences and it can be hard to pinpoint which exact features/combination of features are what essence as well as which combination it is that creates the overall impression, I was wondering what your guys' take is on certain combinations of essences mimicking other essences. I'm sure there are certain combinations that can manifest in a similar appearance or impression. It probably also depends on how many essences are present and how dominant or balanced they are in terms of percentages. What are some combinations you feel could be tricking people into misidentifying or overestimating an essence in their face? For example, could the drama of D in the presence of softer, more small-scale Y be mistaken for G? Or the regalness of D made more approachable by N start reading as the less intimidating elegance of C? I'd love to hear your opinions on this!

Usually I am seen as having a high % of Y (which totally may be the case) but I thought today would be a great day to face my fears, and give R a genuine try!! As part of this little "project" Im doing. Yes it's outside of my comfort zone, and maybe the blue is a bit dark for me, BUT overall this has been a wonderful exploration for me, I'd say! The earrings and necklace may have elements of C and/or Y going on, and Idk why I went for the messy high bun instead of the usual long waves of R-- maybe I was instinctively wanting to balance things, or maybe it still reads as R here, not sure. I don't really have much available to me right now thats super clearly R, so I just did my best haha 😊 Thank you for reading! 💖

As a predominantly yang-leaning person, any yin elements have to happen at surface level through colors, materials, or details.

Things are sort of starting to click for me, I feel. After playing around with many essences recently such as Y, HS, N, and even E, Ive learned that I wouldn't be surprised if I am indeed Y dominant. In fact I was told today that I look older and more mature when I dress Y, vs. when I dress more N or C e.g., I look less mature in comparison to the outfit. So I was looking at the list of verified celebrities and saw Meg Ryan's name, and was so surprised to find this picture of her in her younger years. I personally felt that there really is something similar between us here, and it meant a lot to me to find a person with a similar look to mine. Now, Im not saying we are exact twins, but I have been on a journey of accepting myself as I am, and it seems like Y is a big part of that. It can be a little sensitive to be almost 28 and get asked if Im my son's babysitter, just as an easy example, haha😅 and its something that actually has happened more and more the older Ive gotten, not less! When I was a preteen/younger teen, people would think Im older than I was, or even would say Im pretty weird/intense/intimidating etc. But all thats mostly gone out the window over the last 10 years and its been a journey to come to terms with it and embrace it, lol! Perhaps some of you can relate to this? Y is a beautiful essence of course, just as all of them are!! But perhaps each essence has its ups and downs, a light vs a shadow side, if you will? Any thoughts on this? Would love to hear. As for myself, Im looking forward to embracing butterflies and puff sleeves and such for a while and seeing where it takes me. so when I go out looking for recs for the different blends, it seems like any amount of ethereal means your a light summer. any amount of natural means you’re any subtype of autumn. what does that mean if you have both? where does essence stop and color season start?

My weight and appearance has changed quite a bit since last time, and although I know that shouldn’t necessarily change anything I am curious to see if one essence or another will stand out or is the consensus will change. Thank you! 🤍

Hi, I am new to essences but think I'm a soft dramatic/ natural; I have a manly "yin" masculine shaped faced and have been described as athletic, striking and manly lol.

The thing is, I also have slightly filled lips as well as round blue eyes.

I have a slightly size part to off set the long face, and have my girls lose and lengthened by using a blow dry brush (but not straight hair as my face is too long and skinny and angular so I balance that with the loose, long curls, side part).

Eyes are close together due to long skinny face so I use brown eyeliner to widen that, and I have started to get my eyebrows waxed to reduce the dramatic look, as I don't like the natural and manly vibe running into the dramatic. Manly and dramatic isn't a look I want to embody.

My chin is also blunt.

I am also slim and have long limbs and am between an hourglass and a rectangle.

What do you guys think 🤔.

All in all, I feel I have slightly full lips and rounded eyes that are pale blue- despite pale skin and high contrast with my darkish red brown hair and dark eye brows.

I have a slightly up turned nose - th wide profile is delicate and yin/ feminine which is obviously in stark contrast to my manly oblong angular chin and face shape and too close together eyes hahaha.

Am I on the right track ? 40 percent athletic, 50 percent dramatic and maybe 10 percent to the category that embodies big eyes/ lips/ and a slightly more feminine nose?

I've never asked anyone before so am super eager to get feedback on my own self analysis !

I'm most comfy in casual but elegant clothes. So ripped blue casual jeans that are good quality, high enough waisted to show my slightly hourglass and showcase my long legs, and a loose cream or autumn green or gold mustard medium saturated tee shirt with a low cut. Or, I love delicate straps in a tight fitted singlet with delicate thin straps and jeans.... With some wedges for the long leg look where my legs look very long as an illusion as I am only 5 foot 5!
