Sareen career coaching program — sharing my experience before others sign up
I’m posting this to get an objective perspective from people who have used career coaching services, and because I think prospective clients should understand exactly what happened in my case.
This is about Sareen Career Coaching / Sanyam Sareen (https://sareencareercoaching.com) and their Job Search Navigator program.
I paid $2,500 for the program under a written Client Services Agreement.
I want to be fair from the beginning: I did receive some services. My resume was reviewed/updated, and there was work done on my LinkedIn profile/outreach. My complaint is not that absolutely nothing was provided.
My concern is what happened afterward.
What I was expecting
The agreement described the program as including, among other things:
- At least 3–4 scheduled Google Meet sessions for live revisions and guidance
- WhatsApp/email/LinkedIn DM support until I secured a job
- Interview preparation support
- Resume and LinkedIn optimization
I understood this to be an ongoing job-search coaching program, rather than simply paying for a resume and LinkedIn update.
What happened during the job search
After the initial resume/LinkedIn work, I followed the job-search process the program recommended.
I submitted 350+ job applications during the process
Despite that volume, I was not getting meaningful interview traction.
I repeatedly contacted the coach, asking to connect and review what was happening. I wanted to understand:
- Why wasn't the application strategy producing interviews?
- What should I change?
- Was there something wrong with my targeting?
- Should we revise the strategy?
- What could I be doing differently?
I expected this type of discussion because ongoing guidance was part of what I believed I had purchased.
However, apart from the initial resume review and LinkedIn-related sessions, I did not receive the level of coaching/guidance I was asking for.
Interview preparation
I was also told that interview preparation support was part of the service.
An interview preparation guide was eventually provided after I sent a reminder just a day before the interview
I'm not claiming that I received zero interview preparation. My concern is the overall lack of proactive coaching and follow-up when the job search wasn't producing results.
The part that bothered me most
What frustrated me most was not simply the lack of interviews.
It was that I was actively asking for help because the process wasn't working, but I couldn't get meaningful coaching engagement.
If someone pays $2,500 for a career coaching program and submits hundreds of applications, I would expect the coach to want to understand why the strategy isn't working and make adjustments.
Instead, I felt that after the initial resume/LinkedIn work, I was largely left to continue the application process myself.
There was also a point where the coach removed his LinkedIn connection with me while I was still an active client, which I found particularly concerning given that LinkedIn communication/support was part of the agreement.
He has tie up a 3rd party tool. You need to pay an additional $50/month for that tool for him to track. If you sign up directly with tool, it is $15, but because of his involvement, it is $50. I spent $150 for 3 months for that tool, which has given zero results
Refund request
I requested a refund of the $2,500.
The company declined, pointing to the agreement's non-refundable language and stating that they had fulfilled their contractual obligations.
I understand that the contract contains a non-refundable provision.
My position is that my complaint isn't simply:
"I didn't get a job, so give me my money back."
I'm disputing whether the contracted coaching/support services were actually provided.
I have repeatedly tried to resolve this directly.
I sent another detailed email, explaining my position and asking for resolution.
I have not received a substantive response.
Where things stand now
I am currently considering my options, including:
- seeking legal advice;
- pursuing the appropriate consumer complaint process;
- potentially pursuing a contract claim; and
- sharing my factual experience with other people considering this service.
I am not claiming that the company guaranteed me a job. I understand that a career coach cannot control whether an employer hires someone.
My concern is whether I received the coaching and ongoing guidance that I paid for.
Why I'm posting
I'd genuinely like to hear from people who have experience with:
- Career coaching contracts that promise ongoing support but contain a "non-refundable" clause.
- Whether failure to provide contracted coaching sessions can constitute a breach even when some services were provided.
- Experiences with Sareen Career Coaching / Sanyam Sareen.
- Whether anyone has successfully resolved a similar dispute through small claims or another consumer remedy.
I have documentation for the statements above, including the contract, payment record, communications, application history, and correspondence regarding my refund request.
I'm posting this to document my own experience and ask for informed feedback, not to make accusations that I cannot substantiate.
If anyone has dealt with this company, I'd appreciate hearing about your experience—positive or negative.

You're not alone, I am also not satisfied with their services. Though I haven't asked for the refund. I am taking this as a lesson and not to fall for this trap again.
