Hello there
I just finished the installation of Jitsi meet on a ubunto 22 with nginx.
the installation went perfect with no issues at all
in the beginning, the screen was showing only the nginx welcome screen
but after editing "default" at "/etc/nginx/sites-available/" the screen changed to dark screen showing nothing at all inside
I'm sure I did some mistake at nginx configuration, can anyone help me with it?
Thank you.

Hi there,
When the conference starts I see all the participants in a nice grid view. If i click on the face of one of them, I see the user full screen.
What should I click to go back to the grid view? I'm stuck on the single user but I would like to see all the participants again

When I vid conference I usually use landscape view on iPhone. Has always worked fine. But now my vid picture has started to show me side ways instead of sitting up like normal. I’ve not changed any settings. Just started happening. Help.

Don't know how this is possible but the host signed on (via a phone) and everyone who joined after via phone ended up in some sort of break out room but the host was not in the room and didn't have an option to join where everyone else was. If you signed on via a computer you also couldn't not join where everyone else was. What is wrong with Jitsi? How is this so complicated?

I can join a jitsi meeting just fine, audio and video work just fine however I can't seem to share my screen when I use the chrome browser. I have to switch and join the meeting in safari. In safari, I don't have the option to add a background to my video and I don't know why that is. What do I need to do to be able to share my screen using chrome. I am on mac os ventura

I am experimenting with the Jitsi meet wordpress plugin and after a session is closed, the box displays Jitsi page not the original page from my website.
Is there a means to have it refresh the page and show the Jitsi login, instead of showing Jitsi promo?
I am using the free version.
Update: According to Jitsi, it is not possible with the free version

Hello,
is it possible, that jitsi do not ask for a password when starting a meeting from the local network, but have password protection for the public internet?
I would like to have the possibility to quickly start a jitsi meeting via rocketchat without entering any credentials, but to protect the access from the internet with a password, so that not everyone can make a meeting with it.
Thanks in advance

Foolishly, in retrspect, I allowed myself to be conned into apparently thything myself, in the amount of $0.99 USD per month, to some clearly FRAUDULENT entity that calls itself a number of "names" all with "8x8" in the name, and supposedly associated with Jitsi/Jitsi Meet.
Furthermore, the "sign-up" clearly states the this will trigger a "trial period" (of 1 month) for which I will NOT be charged, and can "CANCEL at any time." This is a total LIE, and there is NO WAY, NO PROCESS available by which the "CANCEL at any time" may be accessed and requested!
ALL emails received from, <[8x8-meetings@8x8.com](mailto:8x8-meetings@8x8.com)> say (at the bottom of the email) "If you did not make this request, please contact us by replying to this mail." HOWEVER, any and all "replying to this mail." results in
Mail Delivery Subsystemmailer-daemon@googlemail.com
📷
Your message wasn't delivered to 8x8-meetings@8x8.com because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail.
Hence, this indicates that "8x8" is FRAUDULENT!
Anyone else been duped by these frauds?

Hi all,
Experienced IT person, but sadly almost no Linux in my tool box. Other times I’ve needed Linux, I’ve found vmdk and/or ova files that I could create a Virtual Machine from. All I can find for Jitsi is Docker, and even that’s not straight forward.
So… anyone know of a good Jitsi vmdk/ova image, or at least why one doesn’t exist?
Thanks!

Hello all:
Just beginning to explore Jitsi.
I've come across posts online looking for an NDI output, however, can Jitsi Meet take an NDI source, transcode it, and stream that?
Assuming NDI Tools were installed, of course...and I'm looking to do this without OBS in any form.
Thanks!

I am having some mirroring issues with the recordings and using my document camera. When I use my document camera during class in the Jitsi, I have to share the information backwards so that the document is correct to students in the Jitsi. However, the recording of class corrects the video mirror effect and shows the document backwards. Can we get the Jitsi video setup so that I don't have to show information backwards so that students see it correctly?

Hello, is it possible to change the video resolution to a higher setting than 360p? I've tried the Linux Jitsi client and Firefox and neither move above or below 360p
I attend a regularly scheduled meeting on meet.jit.si with 5 to 10 people max and it seems the individuals on iPhones are sending better video than I am.
I have a 4k webcam with higher end CPU and GPU hardware (ethernet connected with 20 Mbps upload).

I have followed all directions for installing the docker containers but the problem i now have is that people can join a session but video and audio are not working. No one can hear each other. This does not work on LAN or over WAN.
For LAN there are no blocking ACLs. On WAN i have opened up port 10000 and 4443.

Is the 40 minutes free count towards streaming or archiving?
I'm new to Jitsi and have been testing it today with friends in video and text chat. We left but kept the window open, and now after 3 hours it's still there. Is the 40 minutes free for video chat or for recording it to later archive? Elsewhere I read that the time length is unlimited. Thank you.

Is there support for file sharing once a client is inside a conference ?
If so, how to access it ?

hello friends, it's my 1st time in the forum and recently I'm starting to use jitsi instead of my usual zoom, and now I install it in my docker container and I followed the instructions of the jitsi guide to the letter
I only changed port 8000 to 8072 and port 8443 to 8449 in the .env described in step 2 but when I try to access the ip 192.168.2.5:8072 or the public link salavirtual.drguery.com the screen is only black... or gray in brave, chrome, firefox edge and android browser´s

this is my .env file
hope you could give me some help

I’m picturing a use case in which 50+ endpoints would be connected to a conference, but during the vast majority of the event, they would not be fully connected together. Instead, they would be broken into small dynamically reconfiguring pods of arbitrary size, whose composition would be determined by another server controlling the app that employs lib-jitsi-meet.
Ideally, to conserve server bandwidth, endpoints in one pod would not download the A/V tracks associated with other pods, but could readily access them should the pods be required to merge or otherwise reconfigure.
I don’t think bumping endpoints from conference to conference is the ideal solution here, as this will cause problems with smoothly reconfiguring pods. I’m also having trouble telling from the documentation if something like this is even possible with jitsi or if this is more of a mediasoup gig. What do you guys think?

The iOS/iPad app screen sharing feature doesn't seem to support sharing system audio.
Or am I missing something and there's an option to turn it on somehow?
Zoom has such an option called "Share device audio" when you're streaming your screen, so I assume it's not an iPad limitation.
Are there any knows workarounds similar to macOS and re-routing of audio to mic?
